📣 We're excited to announce our first multi-university collaborative research project to predict irregular migration, a collaboration between industry partner M&C Saatchi World Services, the University of Adelaide and UNSW.    In an increasingly complex world, there is a heightened threat environment for irregular migration to Australia. With people smugglers becoming more sophisticated in how they spread disinformation about Australia’s migration policies, the risk to life of those embarking on hazardous maritime journeys has never been greater.   Supported by funding from Defence Trailblazer’s Accelerating Sovereign Industrial Capabilities (ASIC) program, this project will establish a forecast of this irregular migration activity and then model the effects of potential deterrence intervention strategies.   “The model’s predictive capabilities will serve as an early warning system for potential future challenges, allowing Defence staff and decision makers to anticipate and prepare for future needs proactively,” said UNSW researcher Professor Scott Sisson.   ➡️ Read the article in full on our website: https://lnkd.in/g7T2U-C4   Image credit: CPL Michael Rogers, Defence Australia Scott Sisson Lewis Mitchell Sanjay M. • M+C Saatchi World Services recently hosted an intimate evening for Hello World at the Saatchi gallery, bringing together leaders from finance, government, music, and charity sectors to hear founder Katrin McMillan speak passionately about closing the digital divide. Hello World transforms education access through solar-powered internet hubs in disconnected communities across Uganda, Burundi, Nigeria, and Nepal.   This matters because 40% of the world still lacks internet access. Our research shows 18-28 year olds in the UK consider internet access as vital as clean water, and Gen Z firmly believes internet access should be recognised as a human right.   Simon Bergman, CEO of M+C Saatchi World Services: "Hello World champions a cause which not only saves lives but transforms them enabling people to develop their education, start businesses, and grow economic prospects. We are proud to support their work which connects so well with our mission."   Very special thanks to Sir Stephen Fry, Baroness Martha Lane Fox and Femi Koleoso from the Brit and Mercury award wining Ezra Collective, for their on-screen appearances, and to our wonderful hosts Vassos Alexander (Virgin Radio) and Adam Shaw (BBC/ITV) for contextualising Hello World's impactful work.   #DigitalDivide #ConnectingCommunities #SocialImpact Saatchi Gallery M+C Saatchi Group

  • We at World Services work to understand audiences in contested areas as we develop and deliver effective behaviour change programmes, through the power of communications. That’s why it was fantastic to host leaders from the Abraham Initiatives this week for our prestigious Speaker Series programme.   The Abraham Initiatives promotes equality among Jewish and Palestinian citizens of Israel. Their mission is to advance a cohesive, secure and just Israeli society by promoting policies based on innovative social models, through large-scale social change initiatives, advocacy and public education.   Thank you to co-CEO’s Shahira Shalaby and Amnon Be’eri Sulitzeanu for visiting us and sharing how they are advancing positive change in Israel during one of the country’s most difficult periods.

  • Renowned explorer, writer and filmmaker Levison Wood kicked off M&C Saatchi World Services prestigious “Speaker Series” for 2025, with a screening of his latest film, and shared some of his adventures!   “The Burn” tells the story of a veteran of the war in Afghanistan going on a journey of redemption. It’s Lev’s directorial debut, made with veterans who helped in the production and to raise awareness of some of the issues some veterans may still be dealing with.   M&C Saatchi World Services are proud to be Executive Producers on the film, which we’ve supported as part of our commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant.    𝘗𝘪𝘤𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦𝘥: 𝘓𝘦𝘷𝘪𝘴𝘰𝘯 𝘞𝘰𝘰𝘥 𝘪𝘯 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘈𝘳𝘮𝘦𝘥 𝘍𝘰𝘳𝘤𝘦𝘴 𝘊𝘩𝘢𝘮𝘱𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘑𝘢𝘺 𝘚𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘩-𝘚𝘰𝘩𝘢𝘭

  • We have been supporting the Cadet movement, as part of our commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant. Two of our staff recently volunteered and delivered an online safety and data hygiene workshop at Blackheath Cadet Training Centre, South East London. Hannah Coles and Joseph Ward developed the Cadets' understanding of digital threats, and how to protect their identities and personal information online. The training was convened by Lt Col Dionne Konstantinious, Deputy Commandant of GL SE Sector ACF, who requested our expertise as a means of helping safeguard young and potentially vulnerable people online. The Cadets found the interactive session "very interactive", "fun" and "extremely insightful"; a successful outcome for their adult instructors and our visiting staff alike! Global communications giant, M&C Saatchi World Services (WS) has visited the Defence Academy and identified key areas of shared interest. The team from M&C Saatchi World Services were able to learn about the professional military education delivered by the Academy to both UK defence and our international allies. Furthermore, they were able to draw parallels with their own roles in creating communications capable of influencing behaviours for global partners, including defence. The visitors were shown: ◻️the Defence College for Military Capability Integration ◻️the Joint Services Command and Staff College ◻️the Armed Forces Chaplaincy Centre ◻️the Royal Army Chaplaincy Museum where they were introduced to the Defence Academy deliveries and outputs of each area. Lieutenant Colonel Victoria Seth, who coordinated the visit through the Learning Capability and Development Group (LCaD) said: “M&C Saatchi World Services move beyond traditional advertising into influencing international behaviours, and it was interesting to share different perspectives and understandings of this.” Speaking after the visit, WS Project Director Jay Singh-Sohal said: “On visiting Shrivenham our team were able to gain a deeper understanding of defence through this immersive experience, which enables them to better tackle the problem sets they work on.”

Thursday, 31st October, Ministry of Defence Employer Recognition Scheme Gold Awards 2024 took place in the Long Room at the Honourable Artillery Company, City of London honouring 24 London-based organisations. Sir Kenneth Olisa OBE, the Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London attended the event as the keynote speaker and awarded the organisations along with representation from the tri-service: AVM Ranald Munro CB CBE TD VR DL (Commandant General of the RAuxAF and Chair of Greater London RFCA), Captain Paul Hill RD RNR (Assistant Head Reserves, UK Strategic Command and Chair of City RFCA) and Lieutenant Colonel Darren Johnston (SO1 Engagement at the London District HQ). The 2024 Gold ERS Awards showcased the commitment of 24 organisations to supporting the Armed Forces community. These awards are a testament to their dedication to hiring, training, and championing service members and veterans. Achieving the Gold Award is a significant milestone, symbolising an organisation’s exceptional support and advocacy for the Armed Forces community and veterans’ employment. To be awarded a gold recognition from the Ministry of Defence, organisations must provide 10 extra paid days leave for Reservists, and have supportive HR policies in place for Reservists, veterans, Cadet Force Adult Volunteers and the spouses and partners of those serving in the Armed Forces. During the awards ceremony, each organisation was thoughtfully paired with a song that reflected their business function, adding a creative and fun element to the event. The playlist can be found on the link in the comments. - Images can be downloaded on the link in the comments. - The award not only distinguishes an organisation’s commitment to the Armed Forces community but also sets a strong example for other businesses to follow suit. M&C Saatchi World Services has been recognised with a prestigious Gold award for its work in supporting the UK Armed Forces community, through the Ministry of Defence Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS). The award comes in light of World Services' enduring commitment and proactive work as a forces-friendly employer, and in supporting defence people issues. 𝗠&𝗖 𝗦𝗮𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵𝗶 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗲𝗳 𝗘𝘅𝗲𝗰𝘂𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲𝗿 𝗦𝗶𝗺𝗼𝗻 𝗕𝗲𝗿𝗴𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝘀𝗮𝗶𝗱: “We’re honoured that we have earned Gold, and proud of all the efforts the staff have made to support the wider Armed Forces community. This has included volunteering work with military charities and organisations as well as supporting Service Leavers, Reservists and Veterans within and outside of our business. Our values as an organisation strongly align with UK Defence and this award is a wonderful recognition that we have – and will continue – to serve in the interests of the UK. We also support our other reservists and veterans across the US and Australia and are proud of our international support for staff who have served and are still serving their respective countries.” The ERS encourages employers to support defence and we hope to inspire other organisations to step forward and do the same. The schemes’ top award is made to employer organisations that pledge, demonstrate or advocate support to defence and the Armed Forces community, as well as align their values with the Armed Forces Covenant. At present, our business has 20 Reservists and 16 Veterans working for the agency globally, including in the US and Australia. In the UK this includes Ali de Jasay who complements her work as a Senior Strategist in our business alongside being a Combat Medical Technician within the Royal Army Medical Corps (RAMC). 𝗔𝗹𝗶 𝗱𝗲 𝗝𝗮𝘀𝗮𝘆 𝘀𝗮𝗶𝗱: “I’m very grateful to World Services for their generous reserve leave policy, which allowed me to quickly complete my basic training and to embark on my medical training. Being able to develop the skills the army offers alongside doing a motivating and rewarding job at WS is brilliant and I'm very happy the company has received this award." Since World Services signed up to the Armed Forces Covenant, the agency has selflessly contributed to the wider Armed Forces community (pictured). This includes providing reservists with an additional 10 days of paid leave to undertake their annual camp commitments and a “Military Bridge Scheme” for selected Service Leavers to undertake a paid work placement as part of their transition into civilian life.
