Many thanks to colleagues from Leeds Community Healthcare NHS Trust, Leeds City Council, NHS West Yorkshire Integrated Care Board and Leeds GPs who took part in our Multi-Agency Discharge Event recently. This was a brilliant example of partnership, collaboration and teamwork with staff from across the Trust joining professionals from partner organisations, to look at how the principles of our Home First and Making Every Day Count programmes are being embedded. Six teams visited two or three wards each to observe the discharge processes in place and speak to staff and patients. They also looked for ways to accelerate the plan of care and/or discharge process for patients with No Reason to Reside on the day. We will review the findings and use the feedback to support and encourage teams, identify learnings and further actions to improve patient experiences and outcomes.

We play an important role in the training and education of medical, nursing and dental students, and are a centre of world-class research and pioneering new treatments. Leeds Teaching Hospitals has a budget of £1.4 billion and employs around 20,000 people. This includes St James's University Hospital, Leeds General Infirmary, Leeds Children's Hospital, Leeds Dental Institute, Chapel Allerton Hospital, Seacroft Hospital and Wharfedale Hospital. Our staff helped to define the values and behaviours that we should work to, and this has become known as The Leeds Way. This forms the foundation of our culture, our ethos and how we work every day.
