  • We saw a huge turnout last week at our Employment Law update breakfast event, hosted by our partners DLA Piper. A special thanks to Jonathan Exten-Wright Vinita Arora and Jan Colhoun who shared their thoughts and potential impacts on the sweeping changes the Employment Rights Bill will have on our industry and employment practices. Exactly how this major piece of legislation will play out is still yet to be seen, with most changes not scheduled until 2026. From expected changes to zero-hour contracts (now including agency workers), probationary periods, new union rights, the removal of waiting days for SSP, collective redundancy and day 1 employment rights. We will be keeping a close eye on the world of Employment Law and will bring you updates throughout the year. Copies of the event slides are available on our website. #employmentlaw #hrevents

  • Join us this Friday 28th March (9:30am - 11:00am) for the next session of our online Learning Club hosted by Ursula Connolly of People Skills Business. The session will look at how to Lead Effective Meetings. When meetings aren’t run well—or when there are too many of them—decision making becomes slower and the quality of decisions suffers. It doesn’t have to be this way. When meetings are run well, they not only foster better decisions but also leave attendees feeling energised and motivated to carry the momentum forward independently. (McKinsey Explainer 2023) In this session, we will spend time reflecting on the meetings you lead and explore ways of making your meetings more effective.
