  • It was a pleasure to welcome a local primary school to our Rusholme Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) site 🔋 During our public consultation last October, for a BESS project near Monk Fryston, the school shared its enthusiasm for green energy and sustainability. That led to a conversation about how we could support their learning and how we could inspire future generations. Earlier this year, our team visited the school to deliver an interactive session on renewable energy for Years 3-6. We then took 10 of their ‘Eco Warriors’ on a behind-the-scenes tour of our operational Rusholme site. Tessa Fletcher, Senior Planning Manager at Harmony Energy, who hosted the visit, said: "It was great to show the children the equipment in action and explain how it all works. We talked about how a homegrown, sustainable energy system will shape a better future for generations to come. They asked fantastic questions, and we hope this experience has strengthened their understanding of renewable energy solutions." Rick Weights, Executive Headteacher, added: "We were so pleased to see first-hand how Harmony Energy is working sustainably. Our children are passionate about tackling climate change through understanding renewable energy solutions, and visiting this site brought that to life for them." https://lnkd.in/eXngJD4w #RenewableEnergy #BESS #Sustainability #FutureGreenLeaders

  • 🌿 Honouring the Natural and Cultural Environment with a Karakia 🌿 On Monday, 10th March, Harmony Energy New Zealand, along with our partners Clarus, contractor Elecnor Australia and a number of other key stakeholders, had the honour of taking part in a beautiful and meaningful Karakia ceremony at the Tauhei Solar Farm. The Karakia, performed by Ngāti Hauā and Ngāti Tumutumu, ensures a safe cultural environment for the construction stage of the project.  It was a powerful reminder of the deep respect we hold for the whenua (land) that nourishes us and our connection to the communities we serve. It was also a special opportunity to pause, reflect, and align ourselves with the values of sustainability and cultural respect that guide our work. We’re proud to incorporate tikanga Māori into our practices and continue fostering a culture that celebrates both innovation and respect for the natural environment. A huge thank you to Ngāti Hauā and Ngāti Tumutumu and everyone involved in this moving experience. We look forward to the continued journey of learning, growing, and making a positive impact together. www.harmonyenergy.co.uk
