I am delighted to confirm that I will be speaking at the Casualty Actuaries of Europe (CAE) Spring Meeting on May 15th 2025 at the WTW offices on Lime St. For many years now, I have advised actuaries to think about their career on 3 dimensions. I generally think most actuaries can hit 2 out of the 3, but it’s very rare that they hit all three and some compromises have to be made. It's a subject that I've been thinking about for nearly two decades. For those of you who have not come across CAE, it's a very friendly and well connected community of US P&C / non life / general insurance actuaries working in London, Paris, Zurich and other European locations. You don't have to be a US actuary to join of course; but many of their members are Associates or Fellows of the CAS. They organise 2-3 events a year, usually a combination of London + other European cities. The events are always fun and finish with a few networking drinks locally. There is a nominal 15USD registration fee (link in the comments). Many thanks to Stephanie Akroyd and the rest of the CAE Committee (Marco De Virgilis, FCAS, Soojin Choe, Kendra Felisky, FCAS, CERA, Jeff Courchene, Sarayyah B.) for putting on the event and allowing me to speak.
