It was a privilege to host David Cohen from Alzheimer's Society today. Our team gathered to learn more about this incredible cause and how we can support them as our Charity of the Year. We discussed how the built environment and surroundings affect people with dementia, as well as the underlying causes of this devastating disease. Environmental factors such as access to greenery, water, and clean air can directly impact brain function. Those with limited access to these beneficial environments are 20-50% more likely to develop Alzheimer’s. Key takeaways: 🔵 Dementia is the leading cause of death in the UK, affecting 1 in 3 people. 🔵40% of cases are diagnosed, leaving 60% undiagnosed. 🔵Memory loss is not a normal part of ageing. 🔵Alzheimer’s Society provides essential services, outreach, and advocacy for everyone affected. 🔵A person’s quality of life is directly linked to their ability to navigate their home. Following our session, we’re thrilled to announce the launch of Greengage’s JustGiving page in support of Alzheimer's Society. Behind the scenes, we’re busy planning an exciting calendar of events for the year, and we invite you to join us in this meaningful journey. How you can help: 💙 Visit our JustGiving page:https://lnkd.in/eXidHNJU 📱 Scan the QR Code to donate directly. 💌 Share with your network to inspire others to get involved. Every penny raised goes directly to Alzheimer's Society’s life-changing research, care, and support services. Thank you for standing with us in support of this vital cause. Together, we can make a real difference in the fight against Alzheimer’s. 💙 #AlzheimersSociety #CharityOfTheYear #SupportTheCause #TogetherWeCan

We're excited to be running Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM)'s first training on ESG and green finance for ecologists in June. These sessions are designed to equip ecologists and environmental managers with the vocabulary and the knowledge to support corporate action on nature. In a world where we can't necessarily trust that regulation will always be there to support us, we need to be confident with our rhetoric and then find and amplify other drivers for actions. The world of ESG and disclosure is one such place where we can do this. Join me and Chris Moss on the 9th June for the first session for a deep dive into the world of natural capital! #naturalcapital #ESG #TNFD #embodiednature #ecosystemservices https://lnkd.in/e4iY_ZYK
