The world is changing faster than ever. Especially for young people facing the prospect of working in it. Enter Project Daisy, a brand new initiative to help young people bridge the ever-widening gap between classroom and workplace. So that when they finish studying, they’re ready for work.   Project Daisy will span the pivotal years from A-levels (or equivalent) through to the completion of university or college. Providing a world-class ‘work environment’ in which to study and revise while introducing young people to the exciting world of work. Giving them an inspiring insight into where academic effort can lead.   And today is Project Launch Day – Daisy Day. It all kicks off with our first A-level revision week for our first intake.   We’re at The Jellicoe Building in King’s Cross, for which we’re indebted to Fora. (It’s not just any workspace but the newest, most exciting one in their portfolio.) And we’re not simply giving our students a world-class place in which to revise (complete with tutors from Renewed Learning). We’re giving them a glimpse of the wonderful places where hard work now can lead, with the help of a stellar line-up of businesses and organisations that share our views.   So, to Brockton Everlast, Blackstone, Related Argent, KX Recruit, Deezer, The Mayor's Fund for London, Advanced Research + Invention Agency (ARIA), Too Good To Go, PANGAIALALIGA, Kitt Medical and OpenAI, a huge THANK YOU. And a special thanks to Samsung Electronics, who are generously providing laptops for students without them. Likewise, to the more than 25 schools from across London that are sending their students.   These first two revision weeks (April 7 & April 14) are only just the beginning. Don’t worry if you aren’t part of Project Daisy yet. You can get involved right now. The more of you on the journey, the more young people we’ll help bridge that gap.   #ProjectDaisy #ExamReady #FutureOfWork #WorkReady #CareerOpportunities #StudentSuccess #CareerPathways #StudyMotivation

In 2022, we introduced a seven-part Sustainable Design Framework, this framework brings together industry best practices to ensure all new Fora workspaces minimise negative impacts on the environment and provide healthy work environments that enrich the experience of our members. Opened in June 2023, our workspace at 20 Station Road is a prime example of our Sustainable Design Framework in action, with abundant natural light through floor-to-floor glazing, generous planting, and thoughtful biophilic design that connects people with nature and local heritage. The rooftop is designed as both a social and environmental asset, featuring communal spaces that encourage connection and wellbeing, alongside green and brown roofs that support biodiversity. Organic surfaces are left to self-vegetate, creating a workspace that nurtures both people and the planet. Find out more about 20 Station Road: https://ow.ly/7s1650UA0Zi #ForaSpace #FortheFuture

Co-founder of The Office Group & Executive Chairman at Fora and Founder and CEO, Project Daisy

It’s been a while since I last posted. Yes, I’ve been busy (for which I’m always grateful) but as a parent of kids fast approaching the end of full-time education, I’ve also become concerned. So first question. In the time I’ve been away from here, how many have you breathed a sigh of relief and whispered to yourself, “I’m glad it’s not me starting out now”? It's TOUGH out there. So next question, what can we do about this? I can only speak for myself but here’s my plan. After three decades creating the workplaces of tomorrow for The Office Group and Fora, I’ve decided it’s also time to do something about the workforce of tomorrow. Alongside the brand new workplaces we’re creating at Fora, I’m launching a brand new initiative. 𝗧𝗼 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗽 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗴𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿-𝘄𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗴𝗮𝗽 𝗯𝗲𝘁𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗰𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗿𝗼𝗼𝗺 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲. So that when they graduate from full-time education, they feel ready for work. Next question: when do we start? 𝗜𝗻 𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝘁𝘄𝗼 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵𝘀. 𝗔𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗹 𝟳. 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝘀𝗻’𝘁 𝗮 𝗺𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗹𝗼𝘀𝗲. So, with the help of Fora, Related Argent and KX Recruit here’s an invitation to 100 final year A-level students. To come to Fora's brand new building in King’s Cross (our most innovative workplace yet) and try a first-of-its-kind: a combination of academic study and a glimpse into the world of work. It doesn’t matter where you’re doing your A-levels, you just have to be 18 or over. Special mention to William Ellis (my school): very excited that you’re signed up to be part of this. Over the course of each week we’ll give the students the time and space to do vital revision in a world-class ‘work environment’. We’ll even have tutors on hand to help. At the same time we’ll introduce them to the possibilities that lie ahead by giving them the opportunity to meet some of the most innovative and exciting businesses and businesspeople in London. To listen, learn and ask questions. And most of all not to be overwhelmed but to be inspired and super excited. 🥪And it’s all completely free (lunches included!) 𝗦𝗼, 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗺𝘆 𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗺𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗾𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀. 👨👩👦👦Do you have children (or siblings) who’d like to take part? Or know someone else’s kids who might? Perhaps your business might want to get involved? 📣Or maybe you want to join our growing team of mentors and speakers keen to share their business stories? 👉Want to help? Please contact me on here, or email me personally at projectdaisy@theofficegroup.com Share my passion/concern about the future of the workforce?  Please share this post.

Opened in January 2023, The Black & White Building is central London’s tallest mass timber office, with a design strategy that achieved a 51% reduction in upfront embodied carbon compared to a typical office building. We worked with world leading and locally based Waugh Thistleton Architects, who utilised innovative materials, such as cork and cherry wood, throughout the whole construction. Its design optimises the use of natural resources whilst minimising waste, through handcrafted timber components that use almost every part of the tree. Constructed with interlocking timber beams for easy disassembly and reuse, it features expansive windows, timber core, solar fins on the facade and solar panels on the roof. Rooted in sustainability and wellness, The Black & White Building epitomises our vision for future workspaces.
