Mo's journey from Iran to Barnsley is a powerful reminder of the human spirit's resilience. Picture the isolation: a new language, a foreign accent, and the weight of providing for his family in an unfamiliar land. Mo, a qualified driver, faced a wall of obstacles. Yet, amidst the challenges, he found support, a lifeline from the Refugee Council and a dedicated volunteer named Andy who introduced him to us. This story isn't just about finding a job; it's about restoring dignity and enabling someone to contribute their talents. Mo is now a valued member of our team, and a contributor to the local economy. Mo's story is a powerful illustration of the impact we can have when we choose to see the person, not the circumstance. It's a reminder that investing in people creates ripples of positive change that benefit everyone. #charity #Yorkshire #fullcrumb #skills https://lnkd.in/eA9s4wfj
FareShare Yorkshire
Non-profit Organizations
To improve the wellbeing of people in Yorkshire and see an end to Food Insecurity in our region.
About us
FareShare Yorkshire works in partnership with the UK’s largest food charity, FareShare. We are part of a network of 25 regional centres located across the UK, of which we operate two (Barnsley and Leeds). We are a community, all fighting the same issues: hunger, food insecurity and food waste. Over 270,000 tonnes of perfectly edible surplus food is thrown away each year. We want to see that food put to good use. FareShare Yorkshire was formed in 1998 to help tackle the food poverty issues accross the county by redistributing surplus food across the region. FareShare Yorkshire source and redistribute quality, in date surplus food which would otherwise have go to waste, we turn an environmental problem into a social solution. Home of The FullCrumb Kitchen and provider of bespoke Employability programmes, supporting individuals on a path to long term employment.

Thanks to our volunteers from Minster Law today. Without regular help from organisations like them, we would seriously struggle to get food out to all of our communities. Why does it matter? Nearly 400 community groups from pantries to school breakfast clubs, use our service to ensure great quality surplus food doesn’t go to waste. It’s more than just food. #charity #food #Yorkshire

Thank you Authenticate and Gareth Jones for supporting us here at FareShare Yorkshire. Good luck with the three peaks. We really appreciated the support of you and all our partners in using food surplus to combat Food Poverty/Insecurity and hunger.
🍏 Great to catch up Nathaniel Bee at FareShare Yorkshire this morning to receive a thank you for raising £500 for the charity over the course of our Christmas raffle. With the Authenticate team tasked to take on the Yorkshire Three Peaks in May, and plans for FareShare Yorkshire to use our site action solution to record incidents and non-conformances across their sites and supplier network well underway, we're excited to see what 2025 has in store for our corporate charity partnership! Did you see Look North on Wednesday? Our deputy CEO Jonathan Williams FRSA spoke to Isabella a BBC Yorkshire Young reporter about surplus food and our work. She also visited one of our community food partners FoodCycle to see the impact that availability of fresh food has for people. They run 9 community meal projects bringing attendees together for a nutritious meal and some company. #charity #food #community Read the article on the link https://lnkd.in/eT_Zvpxx

💥The power of people! 30 corporate volunteers spent Friday morning with us to sort this huge delivery from Marks and Spencer. A huge 7-8 Tonnes was organised into smaller trays to provide a steady supply of quality food to our community food partners. It was a massive effort with volunteers from LV=, Network Rail, West Yorkshire Combined Authority, Department of Transport and Planning, Balfour Beatty plc and Axiologik, all working extremely hard. Our CEO Nathaniel Bee and Deputy CEO Jonathan Williams FRSA also got stuck in with the teams. Thank’s so much to Marks and Spencer and our volunteers for your amazing support. 💚💚 #community #food #Yorkshire
