Our US pollinator research team was busy over the weekend!  Approximately 200 package bees were picked up and transported from Georgia and installed at an apiary at Eurofins Agroscience Services Cedar Grove Research Station in North Carolina.  The bees will be meticulously managed by our dedicated beekeepers to ensure their development and health to meet special study requirements.  If you are interested in learning more about pollinator research or booking a tour at Pollinator Centre of Excellence in NC, please contact Jing Zhai. #pollinators #bees

Today, we celebrate the humble carrot, a versatile and nutritious root vegetable! Whether you enjoy them raw, cooked, juiced, or even in desserts, carrots are a fantastic addition to any meal. Anyone else told that eating carrots can help you see in the dark?! Spoiler – they can’t! However…. • Carrots have been cultivated for over 5,000 years and were originally grown for their aromatic leaves and seeds rather than their roots • The orange carrots we commonly see today were developed in the Netherlands in the 17th century. Before that, carrots were typically purple, red, yellow, or white. The orange variety was cultivated to honour the Dutch Royal Family, the House of Orange.  • The green tops of carrots are edible and can be used in salads, pesto, and other dishes.
