Mayor of the East Midlands, Claire Ward has formally secured Government support for a set of shared growth priorities aimed at driving long-term economic growth, investment, and opportunity throughout the region. Over the next decade, EMCCA and central Government will work together to deliver progress in three key areas: 🔬 Innovation – Support local businesses, boost tech, and attract investment 📚 Skills – Improve training, grow specialist skills, and open career paths 🚆 Transport – Make travel easier, faster, and better connected This agreement marks a major milestone in the East Midland’s ambition to lead the way in delivering the Government’s national growth mission, with our region at the heart of that. A fantastic day at the Momentum Valley Investment for Growth Summit yesterday at the East Midlands Conference Centre. The East Midlands Combined County Authority (EMCCA) was proud to be a headline partner of this event, which brought together key partners for the region, investors, equity funders and grant holders to unlock growth and open doors to businesses across the East Midlands. A highlight of the day was a one-to-one conversation on the main stage between Mayor of the East Midlands, Claire Ward and Kurt Jacobs from Insider Media. They talked about the Mayor's priorities, the economic vision for the East Midlands, and the role of investment in driving inclusive growth. The event welcomed over 200 attendees, with businesses from across the region taking part in keynote sessions, networking opportunities, and a business investment pitching competition.
