Department for the Economy NI Minister Dr Caoimhe Archibald attended the joint Women Pivoting to Digital Taskforce roundtable discussion on how women at mid-career can be a solution to tech talent shortages. The Minister said: “Addressing the digital skills gaps through upskilling and reskilling untapped female potential is an essential element of creating an economy that works for everyone. My Department’s Digital Skills Action Plan contains important actions including on digital reskilling and access to childcare. This will not only help women obtain good jobs, it will also provide our businesses with a talent pipeline, as we build the skills and support required now and in the future, and to harness the full economic capacity of all our people.”
Yesterday, FinTrU’s Meter House opened its doors to host City of London’s Women Pivoting To Digital Taskforce event. Held in collaboration between City of London Corporation, Belfast Chamber and FinTrU, the afternoon welcomed a host of speakers to the round table event, with key topics including what needs to change for women in digital, the digital skills landscape, and the pivot journey. We would like to thank Minister for the Economy Caoimhe Archibald, Head of NI Civil Service Jayne Brady, and all the presenters and participants who helped to shape a thought-provoking and inspiring event. FinTrU is a proud member of City of London's Women Pivoting to Digital Taskforce and look forward to celebrating its ongoing success.
