Very pleased to have been invited to speak at the upcoming EDGE Venues Winter Summit next week. I’ll be talking about our work at The Business of Events and also the latest on the newly reformed All Party Parliamentary Group for Events, as we continue to act as the official Secretariat and Special Advisors to the group, and what the events industry can expect to see over the coming months.

Following an inaugural meeting today in Parliament, the All Party Parliamentary Group for Events was formally reconstituted, with Shaun Davies, Member of Parliament for Telford, being elected as Chair.   We will now submit the necessary paperwork to the Parliamentary Commissioner for Standards, and begin planning the activities of the new APPG, which will focus on helping to grow the UK event economy.   Davies Tanner, through its The Business of Events Think Tank and Advocacy Network, will continue to act as the Official Secretariat and Special Advisors to the APPG.   More information on the work of the APPG for Events can be found on its official website www.appgevents.org
