Pleased to take part in the Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council (CWEIC) Summit (#CTIS2025) and contribute to the opening plenary discussion. While the State of #Qatar is not a member of the #Commonwealth, we maintain strong and growing ties with many of its member nations. It was a privilege to share insights on Qatar’s economic priorities, including diversification, cross-border trade, and long-term investment — and to engage in a forward-looking dialogue with leaders from across 56 diverse economies.

Over 70% of climate-related losses in developing countries go uninsured. This contributes to an annual global insurance protection gap exceeding $100 billion. And with climate disasters projected to displace over 200 million people by 2050, the urgency to act has never been greater. At the recently concluded Commonwealth Trade and Investment Summit organised by Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council (CWEIC), our Managing Director, Enitan Solarin joined key stakeholders in a high-level roundtable discussion focused on bridging the insurance gap particularly in vulnerable regions increasingly affected by climate change and natural disasters. The discussion emphasized the urgent need for: - Education to deepen understanding of risk and reduce investment anxiety - Regulatory collaboration to create aligned frameworks - Minimum standards to guide policy and ensure accountability - Collective action to pool resources across Commonwealth nations In the face of climate-related disasters, acting in silos is no longer sustainable. Shared responsibility and strategic partnerships will drive more inclusive, affordable, and resilient insurance solutions. – Key insight from the session. #CTIS2025 #NigeriaAtCTIS #CommonwealthTrade #DigitalEconomy #YOA #GlobalTrade #YOAInsurance

Protectionism is rising. Tariffs are tightening. But AI doesn’t care about borders. On Monday, I had the privilege of attending Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council (CWEIC) 2025, where the future of Commonwealth trade was being reimagined. One clear takeaway? AI is our fastest route to leapfrog global competition — not by scaling manufacturing, but by scaling intelligence. The The Commonwealth has a unique edge: shared language, legal systems, and values. Add AI-driven services on top of that — in health, finance, logistics, education — and we unlock a high-value trading union built for this century, not the last. This is more than digital transformation. It’s geo-economic reinvention. #CTIS2025 #CWEIC #AI #DigitalTrade #InnovationLeadership #FutureOfWork #Commonwealth #TechForTrade #AITransformation #GeopoliticsMeetsTech Megan Wright Anna van Harwegen den Breems Charlotte Bailey Dr Chris Bates Uzair Javaid, Ph.D. Nigel Feetham KC MP Jonathan Le Tocq Jared Peralta Hassen Bali Niko Whittaker Datuk (Sir) SK. What a pleasure and privilege to chair this roundtable at the Commonwealth Trade & Investment Summit in the palatial setting of Mansion House. My thanks to the Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council (CWEIC) for the invitation and to colleagues who entered into a spirited discussion and debate. Our session focused on 'Transforming Urban Centres, Industrialisation and Rapid Urbanisation' - a broad-based topic that drew out lessons and insightful case studies for financing and delivering large-scale urban infrastructure projects in a way that is economically sustainable, socially inclusive and environmentally responsible. The Commonwealth forum brings together such a fascinating mix of countries, with highly varied backgrounds and needs, and it was fantastic to celebrate this diversity whilst drawing out the common threads for successful practice related to civic leadership, public-private partnership models, integrating spatial planning and economic development strategies, fiscal incentives and much more besides.... #wearearup #commonwealth #partnership #tradeandinvestment Kayode A. @dr diane acha-morfaw Paul Begley Eric Bush Uther Charlton-Stevens周炳楷 Jörgen Eriksson Enes Guzel Mohamed Ali Janah Tunji Lawson Nick Moakes Ashish Suman John Renard James Kenny
