Robotic Trimming: A Smarter Approach to Finishing Composite Parts ⚒️ Trimming composite parts by hand is still common across the manufacturing industry - but it’s an unsafe process (dust contamination and HAVS), difficult to scale and often inconsistent. Robotic trimming offers a more reliable solution. At CNC Robotics Ltd , we integrate and install robotic trimming systems that work with your CAD data to deliver accurate, repeatable results. You can expect: ✅ Faster turnaround times ✅ Consistent quality ✅ Reduced reliance on manual processes ✅ Better use of skilled labour Whether you're looking to improve throughput or just want more control over finishing, robotic trimming is an upgrade that delivers long-term gains. Want to see what it could look like in your production line? Get in touch. *The video below is sped up, the true processing time was 7 minutes and 12 seconds. Giving the customer capability to finish up to 8 parts an hour. #robotics #trimming #composites #aeropsace #manufacturing #automation

CNC Robotics Ltd | Weekly Round-Up 💫 Here’s a look at what we’ve been working on this week across the workshop, on site, and in the field: - We carried out a service and recommissioning visit at Odyssey Studios. In addition to their routine service, the team relocated their existing robot milling system and guarding aswell as recalibrating the cell. - Two young engineers (from Scarisbrick Hall School) joined us for work experience, starting with the reverse engineering of a spindle mounting plate. They designed the part in SolidWorks, developed slicing strategies in Cura, and printed the component on a desktop 3D printer. After that success, they transitioned to one of our robotic 3D printers - getting to grips with a whole new scale of additive manufacturing, they also left with their own 3D printed rugby kicking tee! - At Swansea Bay University Health Board, the final site acceptance test (SAT) and training session wrapped up. Their team is now fully equipped to start machining foam seat components independently. - Final testing of a Hiteco spindle kit was completed, including spindle, inverter, cabinet, and chiller. This system will upgrade an existing robot into a CNC milling cell. Alongside the hardware, we also provide the CAM software to run the robot. Curious about how these upgrades, training, or design workflows could benefit your setup? 𝐍𝐨𝐭 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐬𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐛𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐚 𝐫𝐨𝐛𝐨𝐭 - 𝐬𝐨 𝐰𝐞 𝐛𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝 𝐫𝐨𝐛𝐨𝐭𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐟𝐢𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐬𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐞. Our standard robot milling system is designed to deliver high-performance machining in a compact 4.5m x 3m x 2.5m cell. But “standard” rarely exists in the real world. In this case, the entire system had to fit beneath a mezzanine floor - so we engineered it accordingly, without compromising on performance: ✅ KUKA robot with Hiteco high-speed electrospindle ✅ Automatic tool change for switching between tools and processes ✅ Modular working table and guarded cell with sliding door ✅ All built to precision, all built to fit What can a robot milling system do? 🔹 Machine large PU fixtures, models, foundry patterns, mould and tools or foam milling and end use parts. 🔹 Tackle low to medium-density materials with speed and repeatability 🔹 Handle both roughing and surface finishing with a single setup 🔹 Run ENCY Software for offline programming and simulation For manufacturers working with composites, creative fabrication, or specialist prototyping, robotic milling is a flexible, future-ready alternative to traditional 3-axis or gantry-based machines. CNC Robotics Ltd | Weekly Round-Up 💫 We’re launching a new weekly round-up to give you a broader view of what actually goes on at CNC Robotics - on site, in our workshop, and behind the scenes. Yes, we build robotic systems. But we also commission them, service them, train teams, demo software, repair spindles, and support customers across the UK and beyond. This is our way of opening the doors a little wider. Let’s see where it goes. So, this week, what have we been up to? - Our installation team has been at Swansea Bay University Health Board, where a new robot machining cell is being installed. The team managed to get the full system installed and commissioned in just a week, with final training and the site acceptance test scheduled for next week. - Delivered an online ENCY Software training session for a client in the U.S. The session focused on multi-surface machining with the robot, including how to manipulate CAD models effectively before generating toolpaths for optimal results. - Alongside the CEAD Group install team, we commissioned a CEAD Flexbot for a customer in the South of the UK. The system has been fully installed, calibrated, and commissioned, with the site acceptance test now complete. Next week, the customer (under NDA) will begin a week-long training session with the CEAD technical team to dive deeper into operating the robot. - As the official UK resellers for Hiteco , we’ve shipped two spindles out to customers in Ireland this week. Both will be integrated onto existing robotic systems. That's all for this week, if you're curious to know more about any of these projects - or how similar systems could benefit your business - just drop us an email. #automation #robotics #additive #subtractive #software #manufacturing #ukmfg #industry #digital #3dprinting #LFAM #robot

🎯 Rapidly 3D Print PU Tooling to Near-Net Shape Traditional PU tooling methods create waste at every step: - Most of the board gets machined away - Manual pasting is time-consuming and labour-intensive - CNC machines are tied up for days With the Paste_Pro system, we 3D print PU paste to it's near-net shape, then finish it with a shorter CNC machine run afterwards, leading to: ✅ Faster lead times ✅ Minimal material waste ✅ More capacity on your existing CNCs ⏱️ Print time for part below was 92 minutes! This approach integrates seamlessly into tooling manufacturers workflow - and frees your machines to focus on what they do best.
