Do you know what charity reserves are and what levels are right for your charity? There is no single level of reserves that is right for all charities, but you should develop a policy on reserves that is tailored to your charity's needs and that clearly explains your approach. Use our guidance to help your charity build a sound reserves policy that demonstrates financial responsibility and helps you build trust with donors and stakeholders: https://lnkd.in/e-F7sXdk

Our CEO David Holdsworth was in Oxfordshire yesterday to find out about the valuable work of two animal charities – and meet some new friends! At Dogs for Good, David heard more about how the charity trains dogs to support children with autism and adults with dementia. David met some new trustees during an induction day and saw a number of the charity’s dogs being trained – including Walt the labrador (pictured with Ed Bracher, Dogs for Good’s CEO). At Equilore, David met with a number of volunteers and trustees who support delivery of Equine Facilitated Psychotherapy (EFP) to children, young people and adults who facing mental health challenges. Discussions at the charities touched on the challenges of operating small and medium sized charities at a time of financial pressure, and the huge role that dedicated volunteers play in enabling charities to deliver their missions. Both charities showed the incredible impact that animals can have on human wellbeing – as well as the importance of providing loving care for the animals too.
