Good to see SISK Group's demonstrator project at Wembley Park reported by Highways News and other media. The demonstrator project, which received funding from Innovate UK, has involved Sisk, Ecocem UK, Ramboll, Loughborough University, Creagh Concrete, Capital Concrete Ltd and BRE Groupe. Carbon Limiting Technologies is working with Dr Stafford Lloyd and his colleagues at Innovate UK on driving forward an Advance Market Commitment to drive demand for the next-generation of low carbon concrete and cement products. Highlight of the week for me is making it into Highways News! Really proud of this project and everything its achieved - genuinely feel this one has a chance of making a meaningful impact in decarbonising concrete at scale. “John Sisk & Son Ltd Group’s low-carbon demonstrator project received £500,000 from Innovate UK funding as part of its Contracts for Innovation to pioneer the use of ACT, Ecocem’s low-carbon concrete technology in a structure, which is the first of its kind.” “Concrete production currently makes up almost 8% of global carbon emissions. The results we are seeing from this ACT project demonstrate the value of supporting these types of projects to accelerate carbon reduction in a challenging sector.
