The AI Element are on a roll 📈 Camden Collective is a registered charity offering free hot-desking space and subsidised offices for creative start-ups in the heart of Camden Town. This move to a new space is perfectly aligned with our growth over the past month! Over the past month, we've been: -> Hiring for a Design Assistant to join the team! -> Actively working with 3 new social impact organisations 🥳 -> Developing an AI Training and Advisory Programme targeted at teams working in the social impact space! Reflecting on last month's experiences and learnings 🙋🏾♀️ 1. Solo entrepreneurship is tough – it’s definitely a journey full of highs and lows. There are days I feel on top of the world and others where I’m asking myself, why am I doing this? It’s reassuring to have the support of communities like Camden Collective and Soho House & Co via Creative Futures Collective - I've met some incredible people & partners in the last few months 👏🏾 2. Allies make a difference – finding your tribe is key. The ability to bounce ideas off others and seek support on tough days is so important. I’m especially grateful to my fellow manager/friend Yash Sohodeb, who has also become my part-time therapist 😅 Toby E whose been solid since day 1 🤝🏾 Dee Miller, Shannon Herber & Wale Kalejaiye, LLB, LPC who have offered their invaluable advice and to Nicolette Love courtesy of E.. Connecting with new, inspiring people like Fanta Dicko and Sukhraj Johal makes this journey even more enjoyable! 3. Set goals, big or small – staying focused on my objectives has been crucial. One goal was to secure a deal for one of my artists so we could bring an exciting project to life. Huge thanks to Sharon-Rose Mensah for helping us close this! Giving back to the community through sharing my experiences so thanks Finesse Foreva 🔐 Another goal was to produce an event for young people in need of a creative pathway, which is now well underway in collaboration with Khadys Dream CIC super excited for that (26th Nov) y'all 🙌🏾 4. Networking is essential – whatever field you’re in, getting out there and meeting people matters. This past month, I committed to attending at least 5 events solo, which led to some amazing encounters at Foundervine, Music Venue Trust, PwC & TELFAR afterparty with promising future collaborations in the works. I'd been wanting to write a piece on social value and the workplace for a while so thanks Mark Eltringham for the opportunity in the latest edition of IN. Workplaces can no longer afford to or indeed shouldn't exist solely as just four interior walls but rather developers, architects and occupiers need to think about their external role in their local communities and society as a whole.
