Today’s the day 🎉 Bromford and Flagship have joined to become Bromford Flagship. A simple name, but one set to break the mould of what housing associations do and unlock more capacity for affordable homes.

In a rural village with no pub, shop or village hall, a generous donation of land from a local farmer sparked an incredible community effort to build a brand-new play-park. With our support, residents secured funding to bring their idea to life. Travis Perkins provided materials including benches, fencing and 180 rolls of turf, helping turn the community’s vision into reality. The park is already bringing people of all ages together, creating a much-needed place to meet, play and connect. This year, we've expanded our focus to #Neurodiversity, partnered with Wecil for accessibility audits, and are empowering leaders with refreshed inclusive recruitment training. We're also making tangible changes to our workspaces and learning resources. This is just the start of our journey to ensure everyone can thrive!  

Our latest customers are enjoying a sweet treat by moving into their new homes in time for Easter. Our in-house construction team has completed our latest development of 71 affordable homes in Cheltenham, working hard to complete them on time to a high standard. The brownfield development is a mix of one-bedroom maisonettes and two-, three- and four-bedroom homes for rent and shared ownership. Exciting News for Droitwich Spa! We're thrilled to announce the acquisition of a 12-acre site off Tagwell Road in Droitwich Spa, which will a 100% affordable housing development. The site, already with outline planning permission for 100 homes, will be developed with a mix of one- and two-bedroom flats, as well as two-, three-, and four-bedroom houses. This is a major step in our mission to provide more affordable housing in the area. The majority of these homes will be for rent, with the remainder available through our shared ownership scheme. We're committed to using modern methods of construction, including air source heat pumps and sustainable energy solutions to ensure the homes are energy-efficient and environmentally friendly. We're delighted to announce that we’ve secured our first private placement since forming as Bromford Flagship, raising £75 million from investors to help fund our continued investment in improving our existing homes and building new ones. Issued under our updated Sustainable Finance Framework, we received a range of strong bids from a mix of domestic and international investors, including both new and existing investors. Ultimately, we chose a combination of existing and new investors from those who submitted bids. The £75 million instrument has a 15-year term and will support our ambitions to build 2,000 new homes every year for the next 30 years, as well as continuing to improve the energy efficiency of our existing homes. Our biggest regeneration project has been unanimously backed by South Gloucestershire Council, paving the way for an increase in the number of affordable homes in Kingswood. Councillors put their full support behind our plans to regenerate the existing 72 properties in Barrington Close and Fairford Close with 85 new, energy efficient homes at its meeting last week. The existing properties are all two bedroom flats but we’ll be replacing them with a mix of one-, two-, three- and four-bedroom houses and flats, most of which will be available for social rent. The site will be developed in two phases, starting with the demolition of the first of the properties later this year. Bromford Flagship welcomes the government’s announcement of a £2bn boost for social and affordable housing as a vital opportunity to accelerate progress on delivering much-needed homes across the country. Our Chief Executive Robert Nettleton said: “The £2bn funding top-up for social and affordable homes is very welcome and could accelerate the start of several large-scale strategic sites across the South West, Midlands and East Anglia.” The announcement comes shortly after the formation of Bromford Flagship, a merger between Bromford Housing Group and Flagship Housing Group. Now managing approximately 80,000 homes, the organisation has significantly increased its financial capacity, with the potential to deliver 2,000 homes per year for the next 30 years. Bromford Flagship has secured £22 million from the government’s Social Housing Fund to make homes warmer, greener, and more affordable to run. The funding will be used to install energy-saving upgrades, including air source heat pumps, solar panels, insulation, and double glazing - helping our customers cut energy bills and live more comfortably. David Armstrong, Chief Operating Officer, said:  “This funding will help us future-proof thousands of homes. Investing in energy efficiency not only lowers bills but also reduces our carbon footprint. This is a major milestone in our journey towards net zero and a huge win for our customers.” Previous phases of the scheme, which Bromford and Flagship have been part of since 2022, have already helped hundreds of households.
