Water companies have more data than ever, but making sense of it all—accurately and in an auditable way —is a challenge. Different sources tell different stories, and without a structured approach, reporting can become inconsistent. In our most recent blog post Francesca Cecinati writes about Artesia’s Hybrid Data Integration (HDI) framework. HDI blends multiple estimation techniques into a transparent, reliable, and auditable methodology, helping companies manage reporting challenges today while preparing for a smart-metered future. curious to learn more? read the blog post and let's explore bridging the data divide together. https://lnkd.in/e7XCzewK #Data #SmartMetering #DataIntegration #reporting

We were delighted to take a leading role in this project, investigating the potential of modelling service pipe failures. Special thanks to Kevin Murray for providing valuable data on nearly a million service pipes across Ireland. Further insights to this dataset can be found in the full report, alongside an ONS demographic approach that can be applied to all UK companies. At Artesia, we provide a range of solutions for service pipes, including failure modelling, strategic replacement, customer-side leakage and plumbing loss reporting, smart metering, continuous flow and leak alarms, and service pipe targeting. We’d love to discuss how we can support your needs—get in touch to learn more!
💧New UKWIR report: Use of models to determine the size and most likely location of customer side leakage The challenge: Water companies in the UK have been challenged to achieve a 50% reduction in leakage levels by 2050. Leakage from service pipes – including communication pipes and customer supply pipes is understood to contribute to a significant proportion of total leakage in the UK and Ireland. What we did: Understanding these assets and improving targeted replacements and active leakage control is vital to delivering reductions in leakage. This project aimed to explore the potential of developing a simple proof of concept model for service pipe failure. That’s a wrap on Waterwise Conference 2025! What an incredible week of discussions, insights, and knowledge exchange. Events like these remind us just how vital collaboration and knowledge sharing are for tackling water scarcity. We’re proud to have been Silver Sponsors of this event and to support the fantastic work that our friends at Waterwise are doing to drive water efficiency forward. If you're interested in discussing our presentations on the Water Demand Observatory or the Water Efficiency Confidence Scale, please feel free to get in touch. #Waterwise #WaterEfficiency #Waterwiseconference
That’s a wrap on our final session of the #WaterwiseConference2025! We closed the conference with a deep dive into community-scale innovations in rainwater harvesting and water reuse. From policy and education to practical implementation, today’s discussions showcased how we can make sustainable water use the norm. Our speakers included: Liz Sharp, Sarah Bunney, Matt Hull, George Warren, Ella Foggitt, Stuart Edwards, Johannes Melin, Lutz Johnen, Saad Qazi. Here are some key takeaways: ⭐ The importance of dual-pipe systems and limiting mains-supplied outdoor taps to encourage rainwater use. ⭐ The role of businesses and developers in mainstreaming water reuse through better system design, accreditation, and education. ⭐ The need for skills development, ensuring plumbers and tradespeople are equipped to install and maintain water reuse systems safely and effectively. ⭐ The potential of new technologies, such as recirculating showers, to deliver water savings without compromising hygiene or comfort. 💙 We’d like to say a huge thanks to all our speakers, attendees, and sponsors for making this an inspiring week of learning and engagement! #WaterEfficiency #Innovation #WaterReuse #RainwaterHarvesting 💙 Thanks to Stormsaver Ltd for sponsoring this session and to Artesia Consulting Limited for supporting the conference as silver sponsors.

In this months CIWEM (The Chartered Institution of Water and Environmental Management) “The Environmental” magazine I make the case that smart water meters in England, will help avoid future water deficits and boost customer engagement. The article contains insights from CCW’s CEO Mike Keil, Anglian Water Services’s Doug Spencer and Artesia Consulting Limited’s Dene Marshallsay and Joseph Cahill. Over the next five years, around 10 million smart meter will be installed in England. Smart meters enable early detection of leaks on customers internal and external pipework and fittings. Severn Trent over the past few years have installed over 300,000 smart meter enabling their customers to save 4 million litres. By 2030 Severn Trent will have installed over 1 million smart meters, enabling even greater water saving. These are exciting times in the water industry and the growth of smart metering will enable customers to be more informed of their water usage and more empowered to manage it. Only CIWEM members have access to the quarterly print edition of The Environment and the full digital archive. You can become a member here: https://lnkd.in/eCyppMfE Non-members can get a taster by signing up to the monthly digital newsletter: https://lnkd.in/gh6_JCZk On this occassion may I also thank Jo Caird for her wonderful support, assistance and editorial skills in helping me write this article. #CIWEM #smartmeter #watermanagement #TheEnvironment #TheEnvironmental
