How do you structure a team of scientists, experimentalists, ML researchers, data analysts, business developers & operators—each speaking their own (very specialized) language? Recently, we reshuffled how we work at Apoha, structuring our 17-person team into just two scrums. Our scrums are now (intentionally) larger than usual in agile methodology. This setup allows us to play to our strengths while driving adoption and better serving our customers. ⚡ Development: The problem-solvers. A multi-disciplinary team—physicists, hardware experts, experimentalists, software engineers, data scientists, and ML researchers—collaborating to develop and advance our innovation! 🚀 Validation: The strategists & executors. This team runs full throttle to explore the market landscape, engage with & deliver for our customers. All while ensuring that the Liquid Brain is making an impact where it matters most! Why the change? Because in deep tech, iteration speed is everything. Start-ups don’t have time to build for the sake of building. Every decision—every feature, experiment, and model—needs to bridge the gap between innovation and real-world application. Side projects? Plentiful. Staying focused? Non-negotiable. (Unless you’re #DeepSeek, of course 😏) 💡What have you learned about turning brilliant minds into a high-performing team? Let’s hear it! #AgileScience #Scrum #DeepTechStartup

🤔 If AI/ML really works, why can’t we just feed literature to ChatGPT and get perfect antibody sequences? This was one of the many questions I grappled with at the "Biologic" conference. It inspired me to write a conversation starter for anyone curious about how AI/ML and physics-based approaches fit into modern biology—especially for those unsure where to begin. 🎯 🌟 What’s inside: How sequence-structure-function maps onto AI/ML and physics. How LLMs, when applied to proteins, learn weak interactions like tracking subplots in a story. Why AI/ML is a powerful interpolator but still needs physics-based rigor and thoughtful experiments. How blending AI/ML and physics creates a more predictive and integrative future for biology. If you’re interested in adopting these tools but don’t know where to start, this orientation might be for you. Let’s unpack the magic together! #biologicsummit #thermodynamics #biophysics #ProteinLLMs

Kicking off 2025 with a Bang! 🚀 No slow start for us—the Apoha team began the year on the West Coast, staying close to our users and diving deep into their challenges and opportunities. Looking back at 2024, it’s hard not to feel proud of how far we've come. Just a few years ago, in 2021, Apoha was seen as a cool science experiment with one big question: Would it actually work? Fast forward to today—Liquid Brain® isn’t just working; it’s beating state-of-the-art assays and changing the way drug discovery is done. Scientists can now see the full behavioral blueprint of molecules—dimensions they’ve never been able to access before. 2024 was a year of milestones, growth, and validation. Our team grew by over 50%, yet the culture remained as vibrant as ever—good food, laughter, and, of course, karaoke featuring songs from around the world while ending the year with a whiskey tasting hackathon involving the liquid brain! But beyond the celebrations, 2024 was all about proving what Liquid Brain® can do. Here’s what we set out to achieve—and what we’re proud to have accomplished: 1️⃣ Can we unlock insights beyond what today’s technologies can achieve? ✅ Yes! Liquid Brain® generates novel, multi-dimensional, high-value data that reveals molecular details never seen before, improving predictive accuracy like never before. 2️⃣ Can we make this breakthrough scalable and reliable? ✅ Mission accomplished. Liquid Brain® is now fully automated, delivering high-quality data at an unprecedented scale. 3️⃣ Can Liquid Brain® make life easier for scientists? ✅ Absolutely! With just tiny amounts of material, scientists get actionable insights faster—no more guesswork, no more months of trial and error. We also had an amazing response to our recent talk in San Diego, where our CEO Shamit Shrivastava revealed our benchmark results, and the excitement was palpable! The Apoha booth was once again one of the busiest spots at the conference, with scientists eager to see what Liquid Brain® can do for them. And there’s more! 🎉 We wrapped up the year on a high note by winning two additional grants from Innovate UK for Antibodies and Lipid Nanoparticles, further fueling our mission to transform drug discovery. We also kicked off an exciting collaboration with Ethris (with Christian Plank, Estelle Beguin, PhD, Christian Dohmen) to advance LNP-based drug delivery. So, what’s next? 2025 is all about taking Liquid Brain® to new places (literally) and unlocking even more possibilities. Exciting things are on the horizon, and we can't wait to share more. 🥂 A huge thank you to our team, our partners, and everyone who’s been part of this journey. 2025 will be one for the books! If you’re working on designing new proteins, drugs, fats, or formulations—let’s chat. We would love to explore how Liquid Brain® can help. Drop our founders Anshika Srivastava or Shamit Shrivastava a message! #LiquidBrain #Apoha #NewYearNewPossibilities #Biotech #DeepTech #ExcitingTimes #Innovation
