Techcyte has expanded its Fusion Parasitology Suite with a wet mount iodine solution (for research use only in the U.S.), enhancing AI-powered fecal ova and parasite (O&P) detection. This addition aims to improve accuracy and efficiency in parasitology screening. A study at ARUP Laboratories tested 477 specimens across 26 parasite species, showing high agreement between AI and manual microscopy. The AI met or exceeded accuracy benchmarks, correctly identifying positive and negative cases while flagging additional positives missed by manual review. These findings suggest AI could improve detection accuracy, reduce false negatives, and streamline lab workflows.
