More exciting news for our project at Simpsons Malt Limited, we've been nominated for the Best in Class Award & the Project Award at the #BritREAwards 🎉 Huge congratulations to our team and partners who have brought this concept to life. The energy centre combines a UK first electric boiler and three biomass boilers making sure Simpsons has a reliable and sustainable solution for their heating needs. Not to mention a 25,000 tonne reduction in carbon emissions annually. It's great that the project is getting the recognition it deserves. Good luck to all the finalists, we're excited for June! Last month saw the launch of Electrifying Our Future, a new digital series by the ECA - Excellence in Electrotechnical and Engineering Services and Content With Purpose, showcasing 12 organisations that are driving change in the energy landscape. We're proud to be part of the solution. We’re tackling one of industry’s toughest challenges, decarbonising industrial heat. Our Energy Centre at Simpsons Malt Limited combines renewable biomass with a first-of-its-kind electric boiler powered by surplus wind energy. This system will reduce carbon emissions by 25,000 tonnes a year and support a more flexible, efficient energy future. A future-proofed energy solution from Muntons Plc and AMP. 🍺⚡️ Decarbonising malt production isn't easy –but it's possible. Muntons needed a reliable, sustainable way to cut carbon emissions, reduce reliance on fossil fuels and lock in long-term energy stability. We delivered: ✅ 15,500 tonnes of CO2 savings annually ✅ A fully funded energy centre that decarbonises 100,000,000 kWh of heat demand annually ✅ A path to net zero 2030 –20 years ahead of schedule We developed, funded and now operate a fully integrated biomass energy centre at Muntons' Stowmarket site, setting a new standard for sustainability in malt production See how we did it: https://lnkd.in/eRrpFVDf #NetZero #Decarbonisation #SustainableBrewing

We're proud of the energy centre at Simpsons Malt Limited 🎉 Being recognised among the best in the industry is an honour – congratulations to all the finalists. We believe this project will revolutionise industrial decarbonisation. The approach is a UK-first, using both an electric boiler and three biomass boilers ensuring optimal renewable utilisation and providing a backup when excess renewables aren't available. This results in Simpsons Malt saving 25,000 tonnes of carbon emissions annually. This could be a blueprint for many more industrial decarbonisation projects.
