Meet our wonderful colleague Kimberley from Blackheath Brain Injury Rehabilitation Centre in South East London. Kimberley has been a valued member of the team since 2015. She began her career as a Rehabilitation Assistant and has since progressed to the position of Senior Rehabilitation Assistant. Kimberley is also pursuing her studies to become a mental health nurse through our "Grow Your Own Nurse" initiative. On June 8th, Kimberley will participate in the 5km Walk for a Cure to raise funds for Alzheimer's Research UK. For Kimberley, her reasons for taking part are personal: "I used to care for patients with Alzheimer's and dementia and did this for seven and half years. It is very close to my heart, and I want to help find a cure." Well done Kimberley! If you wish to donate, please visit Kimberley's fundraising page: https://ow.ly/VzR750Vyba4 #WalkForACure #AlzheimersResearch

Sometimes, progress looks like climbing a mountain - literally. During Covid, Sean, from Moorpark Place, our residential service for adults with autism and learning disabilities in North Ayrshire, began walking to boost his well-being. Now? Sean's conquered two Munros (Scottish mountains over 3,000ft) in a single day - including Ben More, a summit his Support Worker, Guy Busby had dreamed of reaching for 20 years! Sean's story is one of resilience, determination and the power of support. Read how Sean's journey began and where it's taken him: https://ow.ly/p6sl50VAfxm

The residents at our Woodlands Neurological Rehabilitation Centre, based in York, had a wonderful, fun-filled Greek-themed evening. From a mouth-watering Mediterranean menu to the joyful sounds of Mamma Mia and Greek music, the atmosphere was full of energy and smiles. Residents also enjoyed a stunning Santorini photo backdrop, creating picture-perfect memories! Woodlands Neurological Rehabilitation Centre is a nurturing environment where the team create and support events like this to support the patient's cognitive therapy. Throughout April, we’ve celebrated #WorldAutismAcceptanceMonth, embracing the unique perspectives of the individuals we support, including at our Conifer Lodge and Willowmead services. 🧡 At Conifer Lodge, the individuals we support got creative with art therapy, expressing themselves by designing and building a miniature village. The process allowed them to communicate their feelings, enhance their communication skills, and have fun! 🧡 At Willowmead, individuals engaged in meaningful activities like drawing what autism looks and feels like opening up a thoughtful conversation about their experiences. We’re proud of the individuals we support who are finding new ways to express themselves. Read the full story: https://ow.ly/StYz50VzVfC
