🦾 The largest defense technology forum, Defense Tech Innovations Forum by BRAVE1, took place in Kyiv last week, bringing together top engineers, entrepreneurs, and military personnel who are shaping the future of security today. 🌏 The forum gathered over 3,000 participants from nearly 40 countries — spanning the United States, Europe, and the Global South. Among them were 150 foreign investors, including major defense companies interested in supporting Ukrainian developers. Angel One Fund team was also proud to take part in this event. 🟡 Through syndicated deals, Angel One Fund made 7 investments in Ukrainian defense startups in 2024, including Mantis Analytics, Swarmer, Buntar Aerospace, and Frontline. 🟡 In 2022, Ukraine experienced the so-called “venture winter.” Investment funds became more cautious: in the first year of the full-scale war, venture investments in Ukrainian startups plummeted by 74%, reaching a seven-year low. 📈 However, by 2024, Ukraine saw a slight recovery in the investment market. This is reflected in the country’s return to the top 10 in Eastern Europe in the Global Startup Ecosystem Index 2024, published by the StartupBlink research center. Ukraine climbed three spots, securing 46th place out of 100 countries worldwide, as Mezha.Media reports. 🗣️ Ivan Petrenko, managing partner of Angel One Fund, in a recent interview for the outlet, highlights #AI as the key global trend for the coming years.
