[#PROJECT] SMC PROVIDING A 5-DAYS TRAINING COURSE ON LNG JETTIES DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION In November this year, SMC (Artelia Group), together with a leading Thai university, provided a five-days training course on "LNG Terminal / Berth & Jetty Technology and Construction" to Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT). This training covered several aspects: ·       Overview of LNG Berth and LNG Jetty Concepts ·       Site selection, site investigations, data collection, and related studies (including metocean studies, ground survey and geotechnical data collection) ·       Project planning and design principles, including mooring arrangement and dynamic mooring simulations, navigation for safe vessel access to berth, terminal operability and weather thresholds for operations, … ·       Loads and analysis (covering wave and current loads, wind Loads, berthing and mooring loads, earthquake and Tsunami, load combination, Soil-Structure Interaction, structural analysis…) ·       Berth and Jetty structure Design (including berth and jetty components, construction methodology, and cost estimate) SMC have been involved in the design and construction supervision of major LNG terminals in Thailand and South-East Asia. [#PROJECT] SMC Consulting Engineers (ARTELIA Group) is pleased to be a part of One Bangkok, the largest private-sector development project in Thailand. SMC worked with Nawarat Patanakarn PCL (NWR) as the designer of the underpass connecting One Bangkok to Lumpini MRT Station. The 30-m-long underpass was constructed using the steel pipe roof technique, which was the first implementation in Thailand. The construction was done under Rama 4 Road without disturbing the road traffic and the existing utility pipes, except at the very end adjacent to the diaphragm wall of the MRT station. This know-how paved the way for underground construction in cities with minimal impacts on neighborhoods.

[#PROJECT] The construction of the Phase 3 of the Map Ta Phut Industrial Port, by Italian Thai Development PLC, is well under progress, reaching 83% completion in May 2024. Map Ta phut Industrial Port is the largest industrial port in Thailand. The phase 3 of the port extension is a major infrastructure project, aiming at developing a new area of near 160 Ha for the construction of new gas, liquid and petrochemical plants. The Project involves dredging and reclamation, shore protection, revetments and breakwaters (rubble mound and concrete caissons), an access bridge, roads, utilities and a service harbor for the tugboats. Stage 2 of the Project shall include the construction of a new LNG Receiving Terminal, by Gulf MPT LNG Terminal. SMC Consulting Engineers has been entrusted with the preliminary design, marine studies, complete detailed design and assistance during construction of the Phase 3 development Project, for Italian Thai Development PLC. SMC is proud to contribute to this key infrastructure project for Thailand.
