Satellite images from THEOS-2 acquired at 10:05 AM on March 29, 2025, compared to pre-incident image, show the collapse of pagodas in Mandalay, Myanmar. GISTDA, in collaboration with the United Nations Satellite Centre (UNOSAT) under the UNOSAT Rapid Mapping Partnership Initiative, is providing THEOS-2 satellite imagery of the Mandalay area to assess the damage and support humanitarian efforts for those affected by the earthquake in Myanmar.

GISTDA released satellite imagery from THEOS-1, acquired on April 1, 2025, showing damage to the Sinthay Lelway dam in Tatkon, Naypyidaw, following a 7.7 magnitude earthquake centered near Mandalay, Myanmar, on March 28. The images indicate that the dam's structure has been severely damaged, resulting in the rapid flow of water into the Sinthay stream. GISTDA continues to monitor the areas affected by the earthquake situation in Thailand and Myanmar using data from the THEOS-1 and THEOS-2 satellites to support damage assessment.

Images from the Thailand Earth Observation Satellite (THEOS), operated by GISTDA, have revealed the impact of the recent earthquake in Thailand. The pre-incident image from February 14, 2025, was compared with a post-incident image captured on March 29, 2025, at 10:00 AM. The images indicate structural damage to the under-construction State Audit Office building on Kamphaeng Phet 2 Road in the Chatuchak area. This damage occurred following an earthquake centered in Myanmar, which caused tremors across multiple regions of Thailand, including the northern and central areas, as well as Bangkok.
