“As SMEs, our strength lies in our flexibility. Being nimble and more personal - that’s our competitive edge.” This was a key insight shared by Pearl Yu during our exclusive learning session for leaders yesterday afternoon. The session brought together business and HR leaders to explore workforce challenges unique to SME, with our speakers offering practical strategies and resources to strengthen workforce capabilities. Victor Foo spotlighted National Trades Union Congress (NTUC) CTC Grant, which supports both workers and business owners in their upskilling and business transformation journeys. Pearl Yu introduced the 3Ps of Keystone Cable approach to talent management and retention through inspiring stories, offering actionable takeaways for SME leaders. Fei Du highlighted several Workforce Singapore support initiatives for SMEs, including the CCP for Human Capital Professionals, designed to help mid-career individuals transition into HR roles. Able Cheong spoke on SHRI’s partnership with the Institute of Technical Education to develop future-ready HR talent that SMEs can tap into for future hiring needs. The session wrapped with a panel discussion tackling tough but timely topics - from hiring for potential to engaging mature workers in meaningful ways.
