“Little Chick Goes to School Too!” — our newly launched storybook is more than just a tale; it’s a tool for change. Developed by NTUC First Campus in collaboration with local artist Jangandfox, the storybook encourages regular preschool attendance, especially among children from lower-income families, by capturing the joys of school through a child’s eyes. Part of our broader Attendance Support Initiative, a pilot programme with the Early Childhood Development Agency (ECDA), the storybook complements the personalised support provided by our dedicated Family Support Executives. Together, these efforts reflect our deep commitment to supporting every child’s learning journey and empowering families along the way. A heartfelt thank you to Ms Sun Xueling, Minister of State for Social and Family Development, for joining us at the launch, and for delighting our children with a special storytelling session! #NFC #MSF #MyFirstSkool #brightfutures #earlychildhoodeducation #empoweringfamilies #ECDA

In 2023, we began developing a tool to measure ecological and environmental awareness in Singaporean preschool children—the first to digitise such a measurement scale in Singapore. This year, we were honoured to present our findings at the 2025 National University of Singapore Child Conference, where we shared how the tool was refined, validated, and administered digitally to close to 250 preschoolers. The tool’s reliability and validity have since been confirmed, offering a structured approach to measuring young children’s (K1 and K2) sustainability awareness. This fills a critical gap in early childhood education, providing educators with a culturally relevant way to track children’s understanding and tailor teaching strategies. Aligned with Singapore’s Nurturing Early Learners (NEL) Framework, we hope this tool will support educators in fostering sustainability awareness from a young age. By nurturing these values early, we believe we can help shape a generation that cares for the environment and contributes to a sustainable future. We’re deeply thankful to the NUS Child Conference 2025 for the platform to share our learnings with like-minded professionals. And to our incredible team—your resilience and passion have made this possible. Together, we’re enabling bright futures for every child and their family. 💫 Read more about our research and its impact here: https://lnkd.in/gsrmX_5K #ntucfirstcampus #earlychildhoodeducation #educators #impactfulresearch #socialimpact #sustainability #brightfutures

When educators grow, children thrive. 🌱 This year, the annual My First Skool Festival brought together more than 5,400 educators from over 160 My First Skool centres to learn from one another, inspire new perspectives, and build new connections. Every educator brings something unique to the table—whether it’s a new teaching method, a creative approach, or a fresh perspective. Through these sharings, our educators gain new insights and perspectives, allowing them to better understand and support every child’s unique needs and potential. We were also privileged to have various partners join us in this journey of learning and sharing. A big thank you to National Gallery Singapore, Sport Singapore (SportSG), Terra Singapore, FairPrice Group Foundation, Families for Life Council, Morning Star Community Services, Montfort Care, and Care Corner Singapore Ltd for coming over to share their expertise with our educators. At NFC, we believe in nurturing generations—shaping the future of children and educators alike. ✨ This festival is a reminder of the power of collaboration. It’s about learning from each other, growing together, and building a stronger, more connected community of passionate early childhood professionals. We’re committed to growing this network, fostering even more opportunities for learning and connection, and empowering educators through a culture of continuous learning. Together, we’re leading the way in shaping the future of early childhood education. Because when we learn together, we create more opportunities to enable bright futures for generations to come!
