Last week, we had the privilege of showcasing the diverse career opportunities in social service at WorldSkills Singapore 2025! 🌟 💬 “In the social service sector, it is not just about providing services, but you can be the light that illuminates someone’s life”, shared Xing De, Occupational Therapist at SPD and one of our panel speakers. Through the panel dialogue, students had the chance to hear firsthand from social service professionals about what draws them to the sector and the highs and lows of their journey. At our booth, students gained a better understanding of the various job roles in social service through interactive, hands-on activities with our social service agency (SSA) partners 🤝💼. What an inspiring day at the Singapore Volunteer Management Conference 2025! ✨ The event, themed "Taking Singapore Forward Through Volunteerism," brought together over 1,200 thought leaders from across the 3P sector for a day of learning and exchanging ideas on emerging volunteerism trends and best practices. Here are some key takeaways from the event: 💡 Guest-of-Honour, Deputy Prime Minister (DPM) Mr Heng Swee Keat, shared that "volunteerism brings a positive impact to both benefactors and beneficiaries," highlighting the NCSS 2024 Quality of Life Study, which found that those who volunteered at least once a month were 1.5 times more likely to report a good quality of life compared to non-volunteers. 🤝 DPM Heng announced the launch of the next phase of Project V - a partnership between NCSS and NVPC over the next 3 years to help organisations grow their volunteering portfolios. 👏 He expressed his gratitude to participants for their valuable contributions in building a nation of volunteers. 🏅 26 pairs of Social Service Agencies (SSAs) and Corporates were recognised for their outstanding efforts in fostering regular, sustained volunteerism at the Project V Appreciation Ceremony. 🔗 For more insights from the conference, visit: https://lnkd.in/guAf8W5S Together, we’re building a stronger, more compassionate Singapore through the power of volunteering.
