We’re thrilled to embark on a new chapter with Singapore Tourism Board and Pop Mart International (POP MART) to bring its popular characters such as Labubu and The Monsters to our wildlife parks! 🌿✨   At the Tourism Industry Conference (TIC) 2025, we signed a Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) to mark the start of an exciting collaboration that blends wildlife education with pop culture to create novel and meaningful experiences for both our local and international visitors. Visitors can look forward to themed installations, photo opportunities and retail zones offering a variety of merchandise.   Partnerships such as these empower our mission to inspire a love for wildlife through exploring bold possibilities and turning them into unique guest experiences. With the support of Amazon Web Services (AWS), we launched the Mandai Action for Wildlife Programme with a pilot at Singapore Zoo, bringing together over 150 students and teachers to learn from our wildlife experts about native conservation efforts and how they can make a difference.   This programme goes beyond raising awareness, it empowers students to take action! Over the next few months, they will collaborate with Mandai on group projects that support biodiversity and engage their communities.   By providing students with the tools and knowledge to make a real impact, this initiative strengthens our commitment to fostering genuine behavioural change for wildlife conservation. *Nurturing future talents for Hospitality* Internships are an integral component of a student’s academic journey. In addition to applying the concepts learnt in the classroom, internships allow students to experience the hustle and bustle of the hospitality industry, further preparing them for a career in this dynamic industry. At Mandai Rainforest Resort by Banyan Tree, we are committed to nurturing the pipeline of future talents for the industry. Thanks to Margaret Heng, we had the privilege of hosting 25 students from SHATEC - The International Hotel & Tourism School (Singapore). This learning journey was organized to help the students gain an understanding of the Resort, before making their internship choice. Besides sharing possible placement opportunities, the students were also invited to an exclusive back-of-house tour and an in-depth sharing by our Executive Sous Chef, Alex Siah. This International Bear Day, we're shining the spotlight on the world's smallest bear species—the sun bear! 🌞🐻 Though small in stature, these rainforest dwellers are among the fiercest animals in Southeast Asia. Their golden crescent-shaped chest markings are as unique as a fingerprint, making each bear one of a kind. Spot these elusive creatures at the Watering Hole zone in Rainforest Wild ASIA, a habitat designed to encourage their natural behaviours. But in the wild, their survival is at risk. Listed as Vulnerable under the IUCN Red List, sun bears face threats from habitat loss and the illegal pet trade. Two weeks ago in Parliament, I shared that Mandai Rainforest Resort by Banyan Tree will be open next month. I visited today and spoke with the team - they are busy preparing for the official opening and making sure everything is ready for the big reveal! Shuhui C. is an old friend who recently pivoted her career to our growing tourism and hospitality sector. And Hazirah joined the MRR team, having studied hospitality in her tertiary studies. Just a month ago, we held our own first internal event in our resort's Meranti Ballroom. 🥳 Banyan Group has a longstanding tradition of hosting the Black Tie Appreciation Dinner for pre-opening properties. This event serves as a gesture of gratitude to everyone who contributed during the pre-opening phase, bringing together all involved for a well-deserved celebration. 🎉💖
