At the end of last month, ecoSPIRITS Spain, operated by the innovative wine and spirits group, Escola, headed up by Francesc Escolà, attended the #Paradiso #Sustainability Summit 2025, alongside leading figures in the cocktail bar community. The annual event – the fourth of its kind – is the brainchild of Giacomo Giannotti, the founder of renowned cocktail bar, Paradiso, in #Barcelona. ecoSPIRITS Spain hosted a "Glass & Ice" roundtable event, leading a discussion about how to reduce the environmental impact of spirits. Look out for the next instalment in 2026; it's an excellent platform for all kinds of sustainability initiatives in hospitality. The Circular Economy Club, jointly organised by Business Mauritius and local investment management business, Terra, met earlier this month for a discussion on local initiatives in Mauritius, designed to promote a more sustainable economy. The session began with a visit to our licensed operator for the region, Grays Inc. where participants learned about the ecoSPIRITS process and the company's mission to reduce single use glass in the spirits and wine industries. Today we are extending a hearty welcome to Rosalia's Menagerie, one of the first venues in The Netherlands to use ecoSPIRITS' closed loop packaging system. Rosalia's, in the heart of Amsterdam, now takes delivery of Rutte Dutch Dry Gin in ecoTOTE format, thanks to the ecoSPIRITS licensed operator for the region, Koninklijke De Kuyper Royal Distillers. Other outlets - across Amsterdam and beyond – are set to come on board soon, and bar-goers can expect to find low waste cocktails such as the Sustainable Basil Smash, which delivers both carbon footprint and glass waste savings. We are thrilled to announce that an ecoSPIRITS project won the 'Sustainable & Refillable Innovation' award at the 2025 Paris Packaging Week 'PLD Innovation Awards', which took place last week. The award recognised a year-long project, which started in January 2024 when Pernod Ricard and ecoSPIRITS launched a pilot-scale closed loop system for Havana Club rum in the brand's home nation in Cuba. We are delighted that this activation – now one of ecoSPIRITS' most efficient closed loop systems globally – managed to secure this coveted award. We are looking forward to seeing this expand to include more Iberostar Group Hotels and select local bars in Cuba. This Circular New Year's Cure event took place yesterday in the beautiful Common Hall at Christiansborg, Denmark. The event, which was facilitated by the Danish Parliament's 2030 network, Dansk Erhverv, Local Spirits and New Loop, featured exciting debates on how Denmark could accelerate the circular transition through collaboration, behavioural changes and political action. After the debate, attendees enjoyed some local and organic cocktails, made using spirits packaged in ecoTOTEs.
