Green ammonia releases only nitrogen and water when used as a fuel, sending no carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. When stored and used correctly, it can power a ship without carbon emissions. Berge Bulk recently placed an order for two new ammonia-powered ships. The two 210,000-DWT Newcastlemax vessels will be delivered in 2028 and will meet the IMO’s Tier III NOx (nitrogen oxide) standards and EEDI Phase 3 compliance for greenhouse gas emissions. We look forward to supporting the transformation from today’s fossil fuel-powered vessels to the zero-carbon ships of tomorrow. #ZeroCarbonFuture #MaritimeMarshallPlan #BergeBulk #Sustainability #MovingToZero #BlueMatters #Decarbonisation

Berge Bulk Retrofits Industry-First Front-End Shaft Generator🚢💚 We are excited to announce that Berge Bulk has successfully completed the industry's first installation of a front-end shaft generator on Berge Dachstein, a 208,718 DWT Newcastlemax. This is a step towards greater energy efficiency and reduced carbon emissions. By using this system, Berge Dachstein is expected to save at least one tonne of fuel per day while the shaft generator is running, reducing the vessel’s overall fuel consumption and, in turn, reducing the ship’s emissions. As a part of our Maritime Marshall Plan, this initiative showcases Berge Bulk’s commitment to decarbonisation which includes a focus on leveraging the latest maritime technology to improve carbon efficiency. Every year, innovation and new technology bring us closer to a zero carbon future. The four WindWings on Berge Olympus are designed to automatically turn to catch the wind based on its direction. As the wind propels the sails, it eases the burden on the ship’s engine and reduces fuel consumption. The WindWings can reduce Berge Olympus’s carbon emissions by up to 19.5 tonnes per day. You can follow the world’s most powerful sailing cargo ship on Instagram at @BergeOlympus. Technology is the second Pillar of Berge Bulk’s Maritime Marshall Plan. We leverage the latest advances to improve and upgrade the efficiency of our entire fleet. We look forward to more innovations that will enable us to reach a zero-carbon future together. #ZeroCarbonFuture #MaritimeMarshallPlan #BergeBulk #Sustainability #MovingToZero #BlueMatters

🥊 Mental Resilience at Work 🥊 At Berge Bulk, we take mental wellbeing seriously. Through our YouMatter – Professional Wellbeing initiative, we equip our people with insights to strengthen both mind and performance. In our first Ask Me Anything session, three-time Asia Boxing Champion Abdelelah Karroum shared powerful lessons that translate directly to our daily work: 💡 Aspiration over Motivation – Stay focused on long-term goals. 💡 Extreme Ownership – Take responsibility, find solutions. 💡 Mastering Emotions – Pause, think, adapt, then react. His mindset? “The person who wins is the one willing to go that one step further.” Alongside him, Kirstie Gannaway shared the challenges of female athletes in competition and nutrition. Their insights remind us that resilience, discipline, and adaptability are key to success—both in and out of the ring. #BergeBulk #YouMatter #MentalWellbeing #ProfessionalGrowth #Resilience #WellbeingAtWork

On January 26th, 2025, the crew of Berge Rosa responded to a distress call, and rescued two people stranded in a rowboat, 500 nautical miles from the nearest land. The rowers had been attempting a trans-atlantic voyage. “This act is a powerful reminder that, at Berge Bulk, we are not only committed to the safety of our own crew, but to the safety of every human life at sea” reflected Paolo Tonon, Berge Bulk’s Technical Director. “Our values of Integrity, Action, Team Spirit, and Excellence guide us to always act with humanity, even in the most challenging circumstances.” Thank you to Captain Malvin M. Feranil and crew of the Berge Rosa for showing us that safety at sea knows no boundaries. 🌍⚓ #BergeBulk #SafetyMatters #ValuesInAction
