  • Everyone’s preferences differs, so having options make’s sense, right? That’s why the Navina Mini offers the possibility to use an extension tube, which gives the user increased range. Both the extension tube and the water container can be used up to 60 times, which is double the amount of any other low-volume Transanal irrigation (TAI) product on the market. • Some people are fortunate enough to discover their true calling early in life. Martin Nyman, a Project Manager at Wellspect, is one of those individuals. With a background in bio engineering, Martin has for the past 25 years worked in various research and development roles. While the roles differed, the end objective has always been the same; improving people’s lives with the support of the right medical devices. “The difference the right product can make in someone’s life, is a huge motivator in this line of work and in the life-science industry in general”, says Martin. Adding that: “If I were to go back to university, I would gladly choose the same line of studies and research all over again.” Want to make a difference too? • Do you know what the biggest challenge is for women when it comes to learning self-catheterization? It is locating the urethra. Awkwardness and embarrassment of the whole procedure is secondary to that. We happen to know this, because we carried out a survey about key external, psychological and physiological barriers to teaching intermittent catheterization amongst 69 continence and urology nurses. Both barriers identified tell of how uncomfortable many women are with their intimate body parts. A reason behind this can be the lack of visual representation of female genitalia as diagrams and educational materials often focus on male anatomy, leaving female anatomy less represented. Existing societal taboos around discussing female anatomy certainly also contribute to a lack of open dialogue and understanding. This is why we use illustrations of both female and male anatomy in our educational platform. By doing so, we hope that we can address the discomfort of highlighting female anatomy so that current and future generation of women, don’t need to feel uncomfortable talking about their needs, even when they relate to the most intimate parts. If you are a clinician or a business working with products that tie into women's health, keep in mind the impact you have in shaping public perceptions and reducing stigma. Spread the word and take action! And click on the link herewith to explore the female anatomy with us: https://lnkd.in/dH7m2x7V #WomensHealth #RemoveTheBarriers #BreakTheStigma #MedTech

  • Carolyn Linton from the Pelvic Floor/Functional Bowel Conservative Management Clinic at Leicester General Hospital shares her thoughts on our latest bowel product, the Navina Mini: “As healthcare providers, we’ve seen how bowel issues can significantly affect the quality of life for our patients. The fear of incontinence, the stress of finding accessible toilets, and the embarrassment that comes with unpredictable symptoms often make social activities and family life difficult for them. That’s why we’ve been recommending the Navina Mini to many of our patients. The Navina Mini is easy to use, thanks to its ergonomic design that fits easily in the palm of the hand, making it simple to squeeze and control. The rounded, self-lubricating cone makes insertion both easy and comfortable. We particularly appreciate that it avoids the need for costly gel lubricants and that it can be used up to 60 times before needing replacement. Many of our patients appreciate this aspect, as sustainability is becoming increasingly important. Additionally, the provision of trial packs allows patients to test the product before making a full commitment, which is a great benefit. With instant results, many of our patients have reported a reduction in symptoms like leakage and incomplete evacuation. This has given them back their confidence and a newfound quality of life. “ Explore the Navina Mini at https://bit.ly/3NyKyJp #Navina #NavinaMini #BowelIssues #SmallSolution #InstantResults

    • 7 happy Wellspecters in the Wellspect booth at EAUN25 in Madrid.
  • Demonstrating right now in the Wellspect booth at EAUN25, the new UTI Interactive Tool. The UTI Interactive Tool can be used as a "checklist" to find the best treatment when a person who catheterizes gets recurrent urinary tract infections. The material was developed together with nurses from 5 different countries and incorporates the 2024 EAUN IC guidelines. In this tool you will learn about risk factors for UTIs, bladder and bowel interactions and best possible treatment path with suggested interventions to use in a stepwise way. Valuable resources, like micturition lists and bowel diaries, are easily accessible to print for your patients. The material covers individualized UTI risk reduction, and the importance of how IC users can reduce UTI risks for their own wellbeing. Minimizing UTIs and consequently the use of antibiotics, contributes to the global health issue of antimicrobial resistance. See you in the booth for a demo! If you’re not attending EAUN in Madrid you can contact your local rep and ask them about this great tool! #UTI #UTITool #BladderHealth #Wellspect #Urology #EAUN25

Expedition sponsorship is about much more than planting a flag at the South Pole. For me, it’s about building genuine partnerships that improve lives and prove what’s possible with the right support. My partnership with Wellspect HealthCare is a perfect example - a company whose products I rely on every day, empowering me to push beyond the limits of my Spinal Cord Injury. Yesterday, I had the privilege of speaking to an audience of healthcare professionals who dedicate their work to supporting patients with bladder and bowel care. It was another opportunity to share my journey and highlight how the right innovations - and the right people - can make all the difference. Thank you Sam Crow and Alan Cook for making it possible 🙏
