Parabéns to our Pederneiras plant in Brazil on its golden jubilee! This year, we celebrate 50 years since the establishment and 30 years with Volvo CE. The facility specializes in articulated haulers, wheel loaders, soil compactors, and crawler excavators. The celebration included a barbecue for employees and their families, test drives of our haulers, an excavator simulator experience, and the inauguration of a special 50th Anniversary Hall. Our golden machines stole the show, and our employees embody our commitment to sustainability, innovation, and diversity. Here's to another wonderful 50 years!

This week, Yann Teste, Vice President Purchasing Global Categories at Volvo CE, took the stage at Economist Sustainability Week in London to discuss the future of sustainable supply chains. Drawing from real action within Volvo CE, he highlighted the need for a holistic approach, one that spans the entire value chain, from suppliers to customers and other partners, while staying adaptable to local market needs. Join Yann as he takes us behind the scenes in this video! “We need to be agile and customize our solutions to different markets and customers to decarbonize. This cannot be achieved in silo, why we actively are supporting our suppliers in their journey, building competence, while also incentivizing them by measuring their sustainability performance. This not only drives progress but also positions sustainability as a competitive advantage.” Yann's key takeaways from the discussion: ➡️ Strong commitment from businesses to driving the necessary change and supporting the climate goals of the Paris Agreement, even as geopolitical challenges make the landscape more complex. ➡️ There is significant potential in fostering deeper alignment between stakeholders – to learn, share, and accelerate progress. ➡️ To effectively reduce our carbon footprint, all value chain actors must collaborate in a structured and systematic way, leveraging each stakeholder’s expertise and strengths while taking an ecosystem-wide approach. ➡️ There can be no excuses—we must act together now. A big thank you to moderator Matus Samel, producers Harry Chapman and Edward Glanville from The Economist Impact, and to the panelists Jarrod Glover, Stella Constantatos, Emma Arnold, Radharaman (Rad) Jha, and Oliver Hurrey for an engaging discussion. #EconomistImpact
