Vantel builds AI software for commercial insurance brokers.
Our first product doubles their productivity by automating policy analysis and contract review.
One missed exclusion. $3.8 million in damages. Career over?
Initially, Ulme Wennberg and I believed that the main value add of Vantel (YC W25) to our commercial insurance broker clients was the 80-90% time savings.
But we’ve realized that it is at least as much about getting it right, as it is about being fast.
This is why we’re building Vantel with accuracy at the top of the priority list, helping brokers not miss that exclusion on page 92 to avoid being sued.
Watch the video to see what that looks like in practice (sound on!).

Vantel (YC W25) has raised $2M to give commercial insurance brokers AI superpowers!
Our investors are Y Combinator, Rebel Fund, Inception Fund, and prominent angels who have backed $10B+ companies like Spotify, Airbnb, Revolut, Adyen and Brex at the earliest stages.
They are some of the world’s best founders, AI experts and insurance insiders.
They include Lukas Saari – co-founder and CEO of Tandem Health, Axel Ericsson – Thiel fellow and co-founder of Callin, and Oliver Jung – one of the most successful angel investors of all time, as well as angels from institutions like Lloyd's of London and Anthropic.
Ulme Wennberg and I are deeply grateful to be working with some of the best brokers in the US, who are partnering with us to build the future of commercial insurance. With this funding, we're speeding up development and working closely with our customers, transforming their feedback into game-changing features faster than ever. With this funding, Love Redin and I are doubling down on product and rapidly iterating with our customers.

Who carries the risks of the world?
We had a shot at mapping out commercial insurance. Based on hundreds of conversations Ulme Wennberg and I had since starting Vantel (YC W25), with people across the US and Europe. A bit simplified, of course.
The deeper you go, the more fascinating it gets. Take reinsurance for example – insurance for insurance companies. A year ago, I barely knew it existed. Yet it's the foundation that global risk transfer builds on. (Fun fact: reinsurers also buy reinsurance - it’s called retrocession!)
The best thing? Vantel (YC W25)'s AI software for commercial insurance brokers supports all lines of insurance, and is saving time and increasing accuracy across retail and wholesale.

A lot of commercial insurance brokers tell us they spend way too much time juggling PDFs, carrier portals, and spreadsheets - trying to make sense of coverage details, endorsements, and exclusions. They tell us they’d rather be advising clients and closing deals.
Me and Love Redin are building Vantel (YC W25) to fix this. Our AI-powered tools help brokers cut down on admin work so they can focus on what actually matters.
Big thanks to our Y Combinator advisor Gustaf Alströmer 🇺🇦 for keeping us focused on what really moves the needle. Grateful for his support!
Working closely with Gustaf Alströmer 🇺🇦 has been one of the best things about Y Combinator so far. Me and Ulme Wennberg come into our meetings with 100s of things in our head, and Gustaf always helps us break it all down and focus on what truly matters.
Commercial insurance fascinates me more each day.
Most human activities, once done at a grand enough scale, are structured as companies. And all of these need to be protected. Commercial insurance is one of the enablers of making bold bets and taking big risks – from launching rockets into space to building skyscrapers to making billion-dollar acquisitions.
Commercial insurance quietly enables the ambitious ventures that shape our world.
When somebody asks me what it's like being in Y Combinator, I usually send them this screenshot of my calendar the week ahead of demo day
