The ongoing Interreg Aurora project Our Precious Transboundary Waters gave a report back from their field work in Pasvik: https://lnkd.in/dFN-EJ8u "We are documenting the state of the aquatic environment in the border area between Russia, Norway, and Finland at the time of the closure of the Nikel smelter. Meet Gry Heggås Jensen, Manager Kirkens SOS Nord-Hålogaland👋 "I´m a dedicated worker who wants to contribute to ensuring that the Sami population receives an equal health service as the rest of the Nordic population". In the Interreg Aurora funded project Girku SOS the project partners and volunteers, have developed a helpline service in Northern Sami language. The volunteers know Sami language and they also have the cultural background. In this way, the project contributes to improving public health in Sápmi. Varokaa heikkoja jäitä! Jäät taitavat viime talven osalta olla jo historiaa Centrian toiminta-alueella, mutta SUMMATION-hanke demonstroi jään vahvuuden mittausta autonomisen laitekokonaisuuden avulla muutama viikko sitten jäiden ollessa vielä vahvat. Ennakkoon ohjelmoitua reittiä ajavan UGV:n perään lisättiin demonstraatiossa maatutka (GPR), jonka avulla jään vahvuus mitattiin. Vahvuus tarkistettiin lopuksi vielä manuaalisesti kairaamalla jää. Jäiden vahvuus kiinnostaa talvisaikaan erityisesti pilkkijöitä, mutta myös muita toimijoita, kuten jääteiden ylläpitäjiä tai moottorikelkkareittien käyttäjiä ja turismitoimijoita. Jään mittaaminen tapahtuu perinteisesti kairaamalla jäähän reikä ja mittaamalla jään paksuus mittakepillä. Ohuiden jäiden aikaan se voi olla vaarallista toteuttaa – ja jääteille sitä ei voi turvallisuussyistä tehdä ollenkaan. Autonomisten laitteiden hyödyntäminen ei välttämättä vaadi ihmisen läsnäoloa, ja se näin ollen parantaa mittaustoimenpiteen turvallisuutta. #summation #InterregAurora #MadewithInterreg Centria TKI https://lnkd.in/dnpfiYBs

A digital solution saves fingers from frostbite. The annual reindeer husbandry calendar includes a reindeer separation every autumn, as well as documentation, which is traditionally done by hand on paper. Centria's SUMMATION project developed a demonstration of an application to support reindeer separation. Using a database, the demonstrated application transfers reindeer data from one operator to another, facilitating and speeding up the processing of data during the slaughter process - and ultimately the financial transactions. #summation #InterregAurora
Digitaalinen ratkaisu pelastaa sormet pakkasenpuremilta. Poronhoidon vuosikelloon kuuluu jokasyksyinen poroerotus, sekä sen dokumentointi, joka perinteisesti tehdään käsin paperille. Centria kehitti SUMMATION-hankkeessaan demonstraation sovelluksesta poroerotuksen tueksi. The Interreg Aurora funded small-scale project Exploring Cross-Border Collaboration for Sustainable Entrepreneurship was recently completed. The project aimed to enhance the competitiveness of micro-, small, and middle sized companies (MSMEs) by investigating and preparing for long-term cross-border cooperation within the cultural and creative sectors across the Interreg Aurora geography. The small-scale project focused on fostering collaboration between incubators in Sweden (Uminova eXpression and Go Business) and Finland (Design Centre Muova), to identify joint development opportunities.
