Greenvolt Next continues to support Dublin Airport (daa) on its energy transition journey, working towards the goal of generating 20% of the airport’s electricity from onsite solar power by 2030 ☀️✈️   Yesterday, Duarte Ferreira, Distributed Energy Managing Director at Greenvolt Group, and John Carty, CCO at Greenvolt Next Ireland, attended the official opening of Phase 1 of Dublin Airport’s solar farm - a 9MWp photovoltaic project powered by 15,000 solar panels, already covering between 10% and 13% of daa’s annual electricity consumption.   In the presence of Ireland’s Minister for Transport, Climate, Environment and Energy, Darragh O'Brien TD, the ceremony marked the completion of Phase 1 of a broader and dynamic partnership between Greenvolt Next and daa. Phase 2, announced at the event, will add a further 6,000 panels by late 2027, a development that will allow baggage systems in Terminals 1 and 2 to run entirely on clean, onsite-generated energy.
