This week we had the great pleasure of welcoming Anja Fiedler, Chief Export Promotion, Global Network Officer and Deputy CEO at Switzerland Global Enterprise (S-GE), and Alberto Silini, Senior Regional Director EMEA, to Warsaw. The programme was full of interesting and informative meetings. Together with the Swiss Ambassador to Poland, H.E. Filliez Fabrice and the Embassy of Switzerland in Poland team, we discussed the role of Poland for Switzerland and the cooperation between the Embassy, S-GE and Swiss Business Hub CE. The meeting was followed by a networking dinner at the Swiss Residence for several members of the Polish-Swiss Chamber of Commerce Board. Thank you to Marek Szymański, Karolis Bacevicius, Marek Kondrat, Pawel Pyszlak and Ulrich Schwendimann for presenting the Swiss business in Poland. We also had the opportunity to visit the headquarters of our closest partner in Poland, the Swiss Chamber, to discuss our joint projects and initiatives. We also organised a breakfast meeting with our experts: Lukasz Dachowski, Zbigniew Plaza, Grzegorz Modzelewski and Szymon Stadnik. They gave us very useful insights into the Polish market and our cooperation. We would especially like to thank Boyden Poland for their hospitality and the beautiful view of the Warsaw skyline. During the day, we also visited the key Polish institution for bilateral economic relations between Switzerland and Poland. Thanks to Polish Investment and Trade Agency (PAIH) , Andrzej Dycha, CEO, and Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego, Piotr Jablonski, Managing Director International Relations, for the great discussions. The programme ended with a visit to Geberit Polska, which celebrated its 150th anniversary last year. We would like to thank Karolis Bacevicius, CEO, for his warm welcome and for showing us how impressive Geberit is in Poland. The 24 hours flew by and our guests left for Vienna to visit our colleagues at the Swiss Business Hub Austria. We look forward to the next visit of our colleagues from Headquarters! Last week, we had the pleasure to close the programme of the #HouseofSwitzerland at #WEF2025 Davos with our own event. Across several thematic sessions, our illustrious speakers from government and business shared their perspectives and priorities for the “Polish Presidency of the EU Council and Swiss-Polish Relations”. 🇨🇭 🇵🇱   “There is no security without competitiveness”, said Undersecretary of State Magdalena Sobkowiak-Czarnecka in her conversation about the Polish Presidency. This sentence accurately brings together the variety of topics the top-level government officials from Poland and Switzerland discussed across the opening speeches and three thematic sessions: Europe’s security challenges; innovativeness and competitiveness in science, education and economy; and global economy and geopolitics.   Meanwhile, our panel of C-level business panelists shared their different experiences and opinions on the current situation, and their predictions and wishes for the presidency and the coming years. They debated the “carrots and sticks” in European business and innovation – is there an overuse of one or the other, and what strategies could help to make Europe an even more attractive and competitive global player? What are the strengths of Europe, and how can employers and politics best make use of them? While the opinions differed at times, everyone agreed that “vision without execution is just hallucination”. ✨💡   We hope that with our event serving as a platform for exchange between Switzerland and Poland and between business and government, we contributed to bring the vision one big step closer to reality! 🤝 United forces for Ukraine met again in Warsaw 🤝   ☝A strong Swiss accent at this year's #RebuildUkraine Construction + Energy Conference in Warsaw - representatives of the world of diplomacy, politics, the private sector and non-governmental organizations conducted intensive talks with representatives of Ukrainian cities and municipalities for two days. And all this under the common banner of the #SwissPavilion.   Also this year, the conference brought together key players from Ukraine and Western European countries at all levels. Last week we hosted in Poland a delegation of 8 members of the Swiss association #SwissGAP, whose aim is to introduce and implement the GLOBALG.A.P. standard in Switzerland and to define good agricultural practices. As part of the study tour, SwissGAP representatives met with local producers, producer groups and fruit and vegetable manufacturers. The first point on the agenda was a visit and briefing at the Institute of Agricultural and Food Economics (Instytut Ekonomiki Rolnictwa i Gospodarki Żywnościowej) and a meeting with the chairman of the National Association of Fruit and Vegetable Producer Groups (Krajowy Związek Grup Producentów Owoców i Warzyw). The Swiss Ambassador to Poland, Filliez Fabrice, also welcomed the delegation to his residence. ➡ The aim of the visit was to learn about the market, good practices, but also about the challenges and problems of Polish producers. We visited a total of 7 producers of both fruit (apples, raspberries) and vegetables (salads, rocket, spinach, tomatoes, chicory, and cabbage). 👌 It was a very fruitful week for our guests! Swiss Pavilion at the ENERGETAB 2024 trade fair is celebrating its 15th anniversary! Since 2010, the Swiss Pavilion has been organised by the Polish-Swiss Chamber of Commerce with the support of our Embassy and the Swiss Business Hub Central Europe, and has established itself as one of the numerous initiatives conducted by our Team Switzerland in Poland. As the guest of honour, H.E. Ambassador Filliez Fabrice gave an inspiring speech during the Swiss apéro. This year, we have hosted 7 exhibitors, showcasing their innovative solutions for the power industry sector. We would like to thank Delta Electronics EMEA, EnerSys, Explosion Power GmbH, PFIFFNER Gruppe, MGC Moser-Glaser AG, @Helmar (distributor of HAEFELY AG and HIPOTRONICS, Inc.) @tateco and visaVento for their trust and participation. We would like to thank the organizers of the ENERGETAB trade fair, the company ZIAD Bielsko-Biała S.A., for the outstanding cooperation. We look forward to future projects together!

How do we show Warsaw in 4 days? Do we start with the dynamic city center filled with sky-scrapers? Maybe the bustling former breweries and factories that have been transformed into multifunctional facilities for living and entertainment? What about exploring the history of the city that rose like a phoenix from the ashes after the war? These were the questions we asked ourselves while we prepared a four-day study tour for the Swiss SVIT Schweiz Association.   Now the trip is history. The 51 guests who visited Warsaw last week now have a vivid picture of this multifaceted city. To make this picture as complete as possible, we organized a meeting with Wojciech Wagner, the chief architect of Warsaw, who discussed the city’s urban development plans for the coming years. Additionally, there were market analyses with experts from CBRE, combined with a tour of some of the most prestigious office and mixed-use buildings. Our guests even ascended to the 40th floor in a construction lift on a skyscraper that will soon join the city's skyline... and enjoyed a dinner 200 meters above the ground, featuring Skyfall's transparent, falling balcony! To balance out the dynamic energy of Poland's rapidly developing capital, on the final day, we invited our guests to the outskirts of Warsaw, where Poland's top chef, Wojciech Amaro, and his wife Agnieszka hosted us in an idyllic setting.   We extend our heartfelt thanks to our guests from the SVIT Schweiz Association for their trust, as well as their open minds and hearts. We are grateful to Ambassador Filliez Fabrice for welcoming our guests into his residence, for his presence, and for his valuable support. Thank you to our partners at CBRE for their contributions and for organizing insightful tours. We also thank the experts from the architectural, construction, and legal sectors for sharing their knowledge during the evening meetings with our guests. It is thanks to all of you that the picture of Warsaw we presented over these four intensive days became more complete.   For many of our guests, this was their first visit to Warsaw. We are confident that for some it marked the beginning of an exciting adventure with Poland. “What is it like to be an Ambassador of a country that has one of the most reliable rail infrastructure networks?” – with this question started humorously yesterday's meeting Mr. Deputy Minister Piotr Malepszak, responsible for the railways at the Polish Ministry of Infrastructure Ministerstwo Infrastruktury.   During yesterday's meeting of HE Ambassador Filliez Fabrice with the Polish Deputy Minister of Infrastructure Piotr Malepszak, the recent activities in the railway sector of the Embassy of Switzerland in Poland and Swiss Business Hub Central Europe were summarized, including the May study visit of the Swissrail Industry Association and meetings of Swiss railway entrepreneurs with Polish railway companies and infrastructure managers like: PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe S.A., PKP CARGO S.A. or Centralny Port Komunikacyjny.   Deputy Minister Piotr Malepszak emphasized Poland's openness to Swiss investments and the exchange of experiences and good practices, as Poland has got an ambitious plan to develop and modernize the railway infrastructure in the upcoming years.   “Seeing the ambitious plans that Poland wants to implement, I see a lot of scope for potential cooperation and the opportunity to share Swiss innovative solutions tested in the geographically difficult Swiss conditions to create a win-win situation for both countries” – said Ambassador Fabrice Filliez.
