  • Not all career journeys start with a business degree, some begin on the court. 🏀 Lukasz Terlecki, who joined Sollers over two years ago and is now a consultant and stream leader in our data governance team, started his journey not in fintech – but in basketball. A proud Sopot native, he played in clubs like UKS 7 Sopot and Trefl Sopot, captained every team he was part of, and even won the Polish Championship with his high school. He competed in international tournaments facing off against some of Europe’s best young talents. Even when an injury ended his basketball career, it didn’t stop his drive. He pivoted to a new path in finance and tech with the same perseverance that defined his years in sports. He didn’t land in consulting overnight, Łukasz gained experience across both the public and private sectors, explored finance and tech companies, and even ran his own startup. It was this mix of challenges and learnings that ultimately led him to where he is today. “In basketball, I was never the most talented – but I made up for it with hard work. That mindset still drives me today,” he says. We're lucky to have him bringing that same energy to our team! Even if it's a slightly different kind of court!

  • AI is fundamentally changing the traditional steps and timelines of #insurance #ClaimsProcessing by introducing automation and improving the speed and accuracy of various stages. Traditionally, claims handling has been a manual and labour-intensive task, often taking a long time to resolve large claims. AI shifts claims processing from a largely sequential, human-driven process to a more parallel, automated one. This shortens timelines by performing tasks simultaneously and much faster than humans, while improving accuracy and freeing up human expertise for complex situations. The strategic integration of AI into existing business processes is critical to maximising these benefits. • Do you hear the bell ringing? It's the wake-up call for the #InsuranceIndustry High market volatility, inflation and increasingly frequent natural catastrophes are challenging traditional #pricing models. At the same time, the rise of price comparison websites has raised the bar for speed, accuracy and adaptability in pricing. In a recent article, our own Dorota Gawron and Christoph Baltzer explore, why insurers need to rethink their pricing strategies and embrace new technologies. One key takeaway? Insurers still relying heavily on Excel or rigid core systems are struggling to keep up. #PricingEngines are emerging as the answer – offering faster deployment, better model governance and a single source of truth for pricing decisions. A few striking points: -     60–70% of insurers still use Excel for pricing, -     implementing rate changes can take up to 6 months in legacy environments, -     pricing engines can reduce loss ratios by 2.8%, -     the risks of under- or over-pricing are real – and expensive. Is your pricing process ready for what's next? Meanwhile, Martin Seibold tells us how Verti Versicherung AG is modernising its core with Novum-RGI, and Tomasz Klukowski finds out how Swiss Re's data consolidation with Palantir has significantly improved efficiency and set the stage for smarter, AI-driven underwriting. All this and more in the latest issue of #SollersInsights. Don't miss it!

  • This week around 1️⃣0️⃣0️⃣ students from Uniwersytet Gdański joined us for a Day with Sollers, diving deep into the world of IT, insurance, and career development during 3 lectures. Dominik Dyszkowski and Julia Kołodziej tackled the power of soft skills in business, showing why communication, feedback, and adaptability are key in today’s job market, no matter the role. • 𝗔𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗱𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀! Have you heard about the new #GoQu feature?      (GoQu is a productivity and efficiency tool that helps analyse Gosu code by identifying and solving issues).  Feedback from our customers is very important to us. So when developers working on GoQu started asking for the ability to create their own analysis rules, we decided to respond. User input and technical feasibility analysis eventually allowed us to develop and release the Custom Template Rules feature. It enables users to define custom code analysis rules for their specific business needs.    The Custom Template Rules feature provides tangible benefits:   1. Personalisation – tailoring rules to meet specific project requirements.     2. Faster rule creation – Template Rules make the process of defining new rules (Custom Rules) easier and more efficient.     3. Easier maintenance – updates to Template Rules can be automatically propagated to related Custom Rules.  4. Increased transparency – standardising and simplifying rule management.  5. Scalability – ability to share the same rules across teams and projects.     6. Backward and forward compatibility – the new solution works within the existing SonarQube and GoQu architecture, ensuring long-term usability.   The addition of Custom Template Rules to GoQu is a major step forward, increasing the utility and flexibility of the tool. Teams working on code can tailor the analysis to their individual needs without compromising quality standards.    Want to learn more about GoQu? • Making a backup is like taking an umbrella with you when it is forecast to rain – it may not be convenient to carry around, but you’ll be glad to arrive safe and dry. Backups and insurance are the kind of things you don’t think about until things go wrong – luckily, cloud technologies make both easier to handle when they do. Backup is a key element of data management in IT systems. In the cloud, backups can be implemented in a variety of ways, ensuring protection against hardware failures and ransomware attacks for example.   At Sollers, we help organisations with their cloud strategy – from validating the business case, to creating the strategy and then migrating and adopting the most modern and efficient business tools. Visit https://lnkd.in/dFSAE5B2 and see how we can help you, not just on World Backup Day.
