Za nami konferencja "Off-Site Construction" na której – na zaproszenie Maciej Jakub Zawadzki oraz LURE URBAN THINK TANK – rozmawialiśmy o nowych technologiach budownictwa mieszkaniowego. W Warszawie #ErbudGroup reprezentował architekt MOD21 Piotr Prokopowicz, który zaprezentował korzyści jakie niesie ze sobą budownictwo modułowe. Przypomnijmy, że dzień później uczestnicy wydarzenia odwiedzili fabrykę w Ostaszewie, gdzie mogli zobaczyć jak w praktyce działa technologia prefabrykacji drewnianej w #MOD21. Our „Off-site Construction” Conference is already this Friday. It will feature a very broad range of panelists and speakers from different professions. All of them have one thing in common - the need to talk about new technologies in the building industry and how important they are to tackle 3 crises: climate change, lack of housing and energy consumption. How to implement them with proper funding? How to remove obstacles in the way of that? As part of our "Off-site Construction" EU grant programme by LURE URBAN THINK TANK and Fondazione per l'architettura / Torino we also had the opportunity to see from close the wooden prefabrication factory of MOD21 from ERBUD GROUP. In a team of previously selected in a national open-call 13 architects from Italy and 13 from Poland, we visited the place where the magic happens. In the main production hall it's director Karol Głowacki explained to us in detail the process and showed all elements that take part in it. Afterwards we moved to the showroom (naturally built with wooden prefabricates) where a lecture of on the design for this special type of prefabrication was delivered by the Head of the Technical Department arch. Piotr Prokopowicz. In an internal workshop five PL-IT groups discussed the similarities and differences of prefabrication both countires. In the end we drove to Łysomice to see from close how a kindergarden built with wooden modules we have seen before might look like. All details , the exact timeframe, the potential and obstacles were communicated to us by the leading architect Antoni Szubski and construction manager Magdalena Kamińska-Pizoń. This trip to Ostaszewo an Toruń was a (wooden) blast! Thank you to MOD21 with Bartosz Wiśniewski, Marcin Kasprzak, Marta Olejnik, Anastasiia Baranovska and Anna Ruminska with Klara Maria Zamłyńska for the collaboration and for hosting our group. As architects we strongly believe that now is the time to learn and popularise the knowledge on new building methods. "Off-site Construction" - the first ever conference on prefabrication and big scale 3D printing in Poland took place last Friday at Centrum Rozwoju Przemysłów Kreatywnych. I had the great pleasure to open it with my keynote and lot's of great talks and presentations followed with: - A panel discussion on "Prefabrication for Housing: Policy & Funding" moderated by Kinga Barchoń from PwC with Marcin Gawroński from Sweco and Polskie Stowarzyszenie Budownictwa Ekologicznego PLGBC, Jan Kucza-Kuczyński from TBS Południe and Artur Celiński from Architektura-murator - Three presentations from the biggest producers of prefabrication systems in steel, concrete and wood in Poland with Ewelina Wozniak-Szpakiewicz from DMDmodular, Bartosz Dąbrowski from Pekabex and Piotr Prokopowicz from MOD21 - A second panel discussion on the "Possibilities & obstacles to implement prefabrication technologies in the Polish market" moderated by Artur Celiński with Marta Promińska Ph.D. from STRABAG Polska, Wiktor Kowalski from Buro Happold and Jacek E. Szymański Director Research and Development, MBA, MSc. (Eng) from Sieć Badawcza Łukasiewicz WIT - Two presentations related with new types of concrete and 3Dprinting with the first execution in a big scale in Poland by Szymon Kasprzyk from @Łukasiewicz – ICiMB and Rafał Latawiec from Holcim Polska COBOD International - A closing presentation by Adrian Krężlik from Dosta Tec on the importance of carbon footprint calculations from the early stages of the design process We made history together.
