About The Role
The Senior Accounting Manager will be responsible for overseeing the growing business and be a key leader in running the daily operations of corporate accounting and driving the automation of related processes. This role requires a deep understanding of US GAAP, balance sheet reconciliation principles, strong systematic and analytical skills, and the ability to manage and optimize corporate accounting processes. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, process improvement minded, and capable of leading a team to achieve high standards of accuracy and efficiency.
What You’ll Do
Directly contribute to the company's growth by managing high-impact financial close processes including overseeing the month-end, quarter-end, and annual financial close processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with tight deadlines
Enhance existing accounting procedures and internal controls, and seek opportunities to improve accounting operational efficiency and effectiveness.
Develop good working relationships with internal/external stakeholders; regularly interact with business owners and management on accounting matters.
Lead the execution of and review of journal entries, results and fluctuations, and reconciliations of general ledger accounts in accordance with US GAAP
Drive key initiatives and mentor accounting staff fostering professional development and providing guidance and feedback on journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analyses
Oversee the end-to-end accounting process; independently determining methods to solve problems and taking action to execute solutions with limited assistance
Partner with technical accounting in research and interpretation of accounting treatment and apply guidance to corporate accounting matters, vendor contracts, new transactions, and other related areas
Support quarterly and annual SEC filings and ensure compliance with SOX requirements
Drive automation and process improvements to streamline workflows across the accounting function and enhance efficiencies
Collaborate cross-functionally to support business decision-making through insightful analysis, fostering a culture of teamwork and transparency
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
8+ years of progressive accounting experience
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent
Big 4 accounting or large regional firm experience required, experience in a public company environment preferred
Deep understanding of US GAAP and the ability to communicate complex accounting issues to both finance and non-finance personnel
Must demonstrate attention to detail, analytical abilities, and consistent follow-through, including project management skills
Strong collaboration skills with experience working cross-functionally with teams in finance, operations, legal, and HR
Experience managing teams across multiple time zones with minimum overlap
Ability to influence stakeholders through subject matter expertise and facilitate dialogue that aligns with strategic priorities
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, under tight deadlines at times, and in an ever changing / dynamic environment.
Candidate should possess a high level of attention to detail and accuracy, and strong analytical skills.
Proven experience in automating accounting processes and implementing accounting systems
Strong track record of not only developing and driving high-level strategic initiatives, but also sweating the details alongside the team to get the job done
