On 3 April, we participated in "AccounTips: Your Golden Ticket to Becoming a CPA," a webinar hosted by the Polytechnic University of the Philippines - Taguig Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants (PUP-Taguig JPIA) via Zoom, where we had the opportunity to engage with students preparing for the Licensure Examination for Certified Public Accountants (LECPA). During the session, Audit and Assurance Partner Florizza Simangan led an insightful talk, “Laban Akawntant: Preventing Burnout During the Review”, where she shared her experiences and offered practical tips to help students stay focused and motivated throughout their LECPA journey. She also participated in an interactive Q&A, providing encouragement and advice to guide future CPAs through the challenges of the review period. A big thank you to the PUPians for your engagement. At the Philippines Cloud & Datacenter Convention 2025, held on 25 March at Conrad Manila, Technology Consulting Principal Frits Enriquez served as the moderator for the panel discussion entitled “Navigating Cybersecurity in the Cloud Era: Cloud Security, Data Sovereignty, and Regulatory Frameworks”. The panel brought together industry leaders to explore how organizations can better protect their data and systems as they move to the cloud. Topics included the growing importance of data localization laws, addressing privacy and cybersecurity risks in cloud environments, and building effective frameworks to help prevent and respond to cyber threats. These conversations highlight the need for thoughtful and proactive strategies to manage risk in today’s digital landscape.
