Today, we celebrated a milestone moment as the first commercial sailing of the Vessev VS—9 left Auckland’s Viaduct Harbour Marina. This fully electric, emissions-free, hydrofoiling ferry is just the start of what’s to come in delivering premium sustainable travel on the water. Engineered by New Zealand designers and builders Vessev, today’s sailing is the first tourism experience of its kind to be commercialised in the world. “The Vessev VS–9 is a game-changer for our fleet and our passengers,” said Tim O’Halloran, Chief Commercial Officer at Fullers360. “Its innovative design and sustainable operation are perfectly suited to Auckland’s vibrant maritime landscape, and we are excited to welcome our first passengers”. Onboard guests will enjoy a beverage and premium snack while learning about the world-leading technology. The intimate setting also allows for informative commentary about Auckland harbour and its landmarks. Today we attended the official launch of Moana Auckland, New Zealand’s Ocean Festival at RNZYS (Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron). Fullers360 are proud to be working in collaboration with Tātaki Auckland Unlimited to celebrate our shared deep connection to Tīkapa Moana Hauraki Gulf. The festival kicked off today with a beautiful welcome from Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei and runs until 9 March, offering an array of on and off-water events for all. A special thanks to the festival partners who joined us for an experience on the new Electric Hydrofoil Ferry, designed and built by Kiwi company Vessev!
