Every program we run is somehow special. There's nothing like seeing people start off with a certain frame of mind and then finish our programs with a whole new set of skills and – more importantly – a whole new version of themselves. More confidence. Greater certainty about their next steps and where they want those steps to lead. The ability to steer themselves proficiently in whatever direction they choose to take. Pitch Perfect, our homegrown pitch development program is special. It starts 7 May this year and, over four 2-hour immersive workshops, we teach four different aspects of pitching – whether that's to investors, to funders, to customer or to potential partners or supporters. There's almost no theory – it's all learn-by-doing. If you're keen to learn, or just keen to grow your confidence and prove you have what it takes to present your ideas or your passions professionally, effectively and in ways that compel your audience to take action, join us: https://lnkd.in/g-DrcFGx Thanks to sponsors, Venture Taranaki Trust and Toi Foundation.

We don't always have time to talk about ourselves (our team is super lean!) so we're super grateful for our community members who do that for us. Thanks Brien Keegan for the acknowledgement and kind words about our Graham, who along with running Manifold Coworking Space, also leads the work we do at Doso together with Dan.

These two legends, Graham Nelson and Dan Thurston Crow give so much to the Taranaki start-up community. Last night was hearing Graham’s story of ten years building a community in Taranaki through Manifold Coworking Space. Here were three awesome takeaways in starting a business: - “Slow hunch”: first time I had heard this and this is how Manifold was born and came to be. In start up land everyone is often in such a hurry they miss things. I reckon this is a key success factor in why Manifold is one of my favourite co-working spaces - “Do something”: it’s not a new one, but if you have an idea give it a go. I like how Graham took a balanced view towards risk in the early days to enable this. - “Bravity”: ever heard of that word? Graham made a slip up in that it took a combination of being a certain amount naive, whilst being brave. I think that is all of us in starting a business, we don’t really know what it is like until we get into it and from start up throughout the journey you need to continue to be courageous along the way. Thanks Graham, it’s awesome to part of the community you have created. Congrats on 10 years!!!

It's been invigorating to see new people coming along to Doso events over the past year. But a community is only a community if we get to know each other (and to know how we can support each other). Our annual speed networking meetup brings people from all parts of the innovation ecosystem together; it's an incredibly valuable way to build relationships and ensure you're abreast of what's bubbling up in this hyper talented, super-inspiring corner of the world. Please RSVP to help us get the catering right. **Note that this meetup is in Manifold's Ōākura space**
