VARD is one of the major global designers and shipbuilders of specialized vessels. Headquartered in Norway and with approximately 8,000 employees, VARD operates six strategically located shipbuilding facilities, including three in Norway, two in Romania and one in Vietnam. Through its specialized subsidiaries, VARD develops power and automation systems, deck handling equipment, and vessel accommodation solutions, and provides design and engineering services to the global maritime industry. VARD’s long shipbuilding traditions, cutting-edge innovation and technology coupled with its global operations and track record in constructing complex and highly customized vessels have earned it recognition from industry players and enabled it to build strong relationships with its customers. VARD was listed on the Main Board of the Singapore Exchange on 12 November 2010. Majority shareholder Fincantieri Oil & Gas S.p.A., a wholly owned subsidiary of FINCANTIERI S.p.A., owns 79.2% in the Group. Headquartered in Trieste, Italy, FINCANTIERI is one of the world’s largest shipbuilding groups and has, over its 200 years of maritime history, built more than 7,000 vessels.

Recently, 14 leading companies from across Europe came together at the ECOMAT Center in Bremen to kick off this ambitious initiative.   • Fostering future talent. 🚀 On April 3, Vard Shipyards Romania – Braila welcomed 20 students from the Faculty of Naval Architecture at “Universitatea „Dunărea de Jos” din Galați”. During their visit, the students explored the shipyard’s manufacturing processes and witnessed a special moment - the launch of hull NB 982, the fourth Commissioning Service Operations Vessel (CSOV) built in Braila for Norwind Offshore. They also had the chance to step inside the newly launched vessel and experience the result of shipbuilding up close. 🚢 We’re always proud to inspire the next generation of naval architects and engineers.   • During a three-week journey, the Chilean icebreaker Almirante Viel, set sail south on its second Antarctic mission – this time with Jason DSouza, B.Eng, Google PMP from Vard Marine Inc on board.   • See NB 982 being launched at Vard Shipyards Romania – Braila! 🚢   Thursday marked an exciting milestone as NB 982 for Norwind Offshore was successfully launched. This is the fourth CSOV hull built at Vard Shipyards Romania - Braila, for Norwind Offshore - a strong testament to our continued collaboration and the dedication of everyone involved.     A new milestone has been achieved, as we celebrate our first #SeaQ Integrated Bridge delivery to the cruise industry! 👏 We are proud to announce the successful delivery of an innovative bridge solution for “Mein Schiff Relax”, the first of two new dual-fuel powered InTUItion class cruise ships, built and delivered by FINCANTIERI for TUI Cruises, a joint venture between TUI AG and Royal Caribbean Cruises. 👉 This marks Vard Electro’s first SeaQ Integrated Bridge delivered to a cruise ship and our entry into a new market segment as a supplier of advanced maritime electronics. 👉 Developed through four years of close collaboration with TUI Cruises, the result is a future-ready bridge with full system integration and intuitive digital control. 👉 The bridge offers a seamless operational loop, providing operators with access to all connected systems from any workstation on the bridge. “By working directly with TUI Cruises from day one, we have been able to gain first-hand insight into their challenges, allowing us to create flexible solutions with tailored bridge equipment that can effectively meet their requirements,” says Gisle Anderssen, SVP Sales and Marketing at Vard Electro.     DFO contracts VARD for one Offshore Subsea Construction Vessel. 🎉   We are thrilled to announce that we have signed a contract with the Taiwanese based company Dong Fang Offshore 東方風能 (DFO) for the design and construction of one Offshore Subsea Construction Vessel, with option(s). The vessel is of VARD 3 39 design.   This is the third vessel VARD is building for DFO, with the first two being Commissioning Service Operations Vessels, contracted in May 2024.   Through our integrated value chain, we are delivering the design, building the hull, outfitting, integrating, and commissioning the ships for the customer. 👉 Vard Electro is delivering a fully integrated power and automation system, emphasizing total system efficiency to ensure optimal environmental considerations.The vessel is also equipped with the market-leading SeaQ Bridge.  👉 Vard Interiors will provide HVAC-R, piping systems and modern interior solutions designed to create environments that are both functional and conducive to individual well-being and productivity aboard the vessel.    - We are proud and honored that DFO has chosen to return as a customer to VARD. This contract is yet another token of VARDs ability and proven record to deliver vessels on time and budget.
