HBC today announces a strategic partnership with Symrise AG, a global leader producing flavours, functional ingredients and solutions that enhance sensory properties and nutrition in a sustainable way. HBC will accelerate its manufacturing scale and market reach with the construction of a second enzymatic hydrolysis plant in Berkåk, Norway. Symrise will support the financing of the project through a €5m loan. Hofseth BioCare has been successful in its application to Innovation Norway and received a grant of up to 3.3M NOK. The funding will support a clinical trial to further define the benefit of HBC’s undenatured type II collagen NT-II™  in joint health to support active lifestyles and healthy ageing. This grant is awarded to innovative collaboration between Norwegian and Chinese companies where clear impact can be demonstrated on China’s strategy towards the circular economy, environmental protection and healthcare. NT-II is different to other joint health solutions on the market as it has a unique combination of properties. It is sourced from fresh Norwegian salmon – part of truly circular economy where nothing is wasted. This natural marine ingredient is gently extracted and therefore minimally processed to provide a soluble undenatured type II collagen with inherent trace mineral content and a naturally protective calcium hydroxyapatite scaffold.
