  • 📢 DWO Signs MOU with Dongyang to Strengthen Regional Partnership in Offshore Wind On March 20, 2025, Deep Wind Offshore (DWO) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Dongyang Co., Ltd., a marine services company based in Yeosu, Korea. Dongyang has been providing professional marine and port services for over 40 years, including ship-to-ship (STS) oil transfer, port safety operations, and oil spill response. As a trusted local partner deeply rooted in the Yeosu region, Dongyang brings invaluable expertise and regional insight to our offshore wind initiatives. This MOU represents a key step in building a strong regional collaboration framework to support offshore wind development along Korea’s southern coast. It reflects DWO’s core commitment to coexistence and sustainable growth with local communities. By combining DWO’s international experience with Dongyang’s regional presence, we aim to contribute meaningfully to the local economy and Korea’s energy transition.   • Sunly, Deep Wind Offshore, and VALOREM Group join forces for offshore wind project Tuul Energy in Estonia 🇪🇪 Estonian energy producer Sunly and French renewable pioneer VALOREM Group enters Deep Wind Offshore’s offshore wind project Tuul Energy for joint development in Estonia 🤝🏼 “Securing exclusivity for a major offshore wind area in Estonia was a big win for Deep Wind Offshore. Bringing along VALOREM Group and Sunly proves the willingness to commit to strong projects”, CEO Knut Vassbotn of Deep Wind Offshore said.   The three partners have signed an partnership agreement to exclusively develop offshore wind in a 250 km² area off the coast of Saaremaa Island. This strategic collaboration brings together international offshore wind expertise with strong local knowledge to deliver an ambitious project in a fast-growing market.   • ⚡️Partners up with the largest power producer in South Korea ⚡️   Deep Wind Offshore is thrilled to have signed a partnership agreement with Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power (KHNP) the largest power producer in South Korea, for the Admiral Lee and the Abalone projects 🇰🇷   The signing ceremony took place in Oslo, accompanied by the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Norway Mrs. Seo Min-Jeong and Mr. Jo Sletbak from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. KHNP were represented by its President Mr. Joo Ho Hwang and Executive Vice President Mr. Kim Hyung-Il meeting Deep Wind Offshore’s CEO Knut Vassbotn, CCO Hans Petter Ovrevik, and Country Manager Myoung Won Kang.   Deep Wind Offshore has been developing offshore wind projects around the Korean peninsula for the past four years. So far, this has resulted in 3 GW under exclusive development 🌊   The Company continues to follow the industrial traditions of owner Knutsen Group who has been present in the South Korean market for the last decades. With an extensive new building program, Knutsen Group is one of the biggest clients to Korean yards. Last week, the parties attended the naming ceremony for Knutsen’s two brand new LNG vessels at the HD Hyundai Samho Co., Ltd.     The 4th Kuressaare Offshore Wind Conference kicked off today, with great interventions from public and private sector. The embassy was particularly pleased to see Magnus Hallman of Deep Wind Offshore on the stage, explaining the Norwegian developer’s view on the Estonian OW market. In addition, there were great contributions by experts from DNV as well as marine security expert Per Olav Foss of Equinor. A very useful day spent in beautiful Kuressaare. Thank you Saare Wind Energy, Van Oord - Nederland, Embassy of the Netherlands in Estonia, Estonian Wind Power Association and Saaremaa Development Center.
