Nothing beats seeing operations firsthand! Our visit to Avramar’s production facilities was an invaluable opportunity to gain deeper insight into the Greek aquaculture industry. A big thank you to Innovation Norway and the Hellenic Aquaculture Producers Organization for organizing such a well-structured event. And of course, a special thanks to AVRAMAR for welcoming us and giving us a close-up look at your impressive facilities and operations. Beyond aquaculture, one thing stood out during our trip—Greece is experiencing a solar energy boom! The number of solar power installations under development is staggering, underscoring the massive potential for floating solar solutions. Seeing this rapid growth firsthand reinforces our belief that floating solar can play a key role in expanding renewable energy production in the region. Finally, I was also happy to spend time with Bruno Polichetti and Chris from AKVA group Greece—great to strengthen relationships with such valuable partners. Exciting opportunities ahead! Contract signed for world’s northernmost floating solar plant: The 160 kW floating solar system, from Norwegian renewable energy company Alotta, will be deployed off the Norwegian coast, helping to reduce the diesel and CO2 consumption at a site belonging to a fishing company.  #RenewableEnergy #Photovoltaic #Technology

🌞 The world's northernmost floating solar power plant is coming to Emilsen fisk! 🌊 We’re proud to announce that Emilsen Fisk has ordered an Alotta Solar Hybrid 120 for its site at Båfjordstranda in Nærøysund, Trøndelag – making it the northernmost floating solar installation in the world! 🌍☀️ Until now, Hofseth's installation held this title, but with this project, we’re taking renewable energy even further north. This is another step toward reducing diesel consumption and CO₂ emissions in aquaculture. 💬 Egil Hjelmeland, CSO of Alotta: "Emilsen Fisk is showing real leadership by taking a major step toward sustainability. 🌞 The World’s Northernmost Floating Solar Power Plant! 🌊 When we rebranded to Alotta, we wanted to capture what we’re all about—sustainable solutions, innovation, and working in some of the most breathtaking (and sometimes freezing) locations on Earth. ❄️☀️ So, we called in the incredibly talented Marius Beck Dahle to join us at our site in Overåneset, camera in hand, ready to make solar power look even cooler (literally). 📸✨ The photos? A perfect mix of clean energy, epic landscapes, and people who love what they do - even when it involves a spontaneous Arctic swim. And yes, this installation is currently the world’s northernmost floating solar power plant. Yesterday, I had an incredible day out at the world’s northernmost floating solar power plant - our Alotta Solar Hybrid! With fjords and snow-covered mountains as our backdrop, we finally got to enjoy the first sunrays returning to the Sunnmøre-region in Norway. There’s something magical about this time of year – when the light returns, energy rises, and we see our power plant getting back to full power. Being surrounded by this breathtaking nature, reminds us why we do what we do. We bring clean, renewable energy to places that need it – in a way that works in harmony with nature. This is, guite literally, just the beginning of a brighter season. In 2024, we’ve proven that our solutions deliver great results, and we’re ready to take the next step together with our partners and customers.
