Rethinking Plastics With The Power Of Plants
Over ons
The world desperately needs sustainable alternatives for everyday plastics. Alternatives that are 100% fossil-free and circular, revolutionary in their simplicity, game-changing in their impact, and accessible to every person on the planet. Hello, we are Releaf®, a result of Avantium's relentless innovation. Rooted in nature and designed for the future, we are on a mission to transform the landscape of conventional fossil-based plastics used in bottles, packaging, and clothing with our plant-based PEF. Our goal is to eliminate the damaging CO2 footprint while preserving convenience and ease. Our Commitment: 🌿100% Plant-Based: Harnessing the power of nature for sustainable solutions. ♻️Fully Recyclable: Creating a circular economy where materials are reused, not discarded. ⬇️Lower Carbon Footprint: Reducing environmental impact without compromising quality. We may not have all the solutions, but we have one big solution: 100% circular plastics that work with the planet, not against it. We’re not just creating products; we're cultivating change. Join us in envisioning a world where eco-friendly choices are the norm, not the exception. Together, we can shape a sustainable future for generations to come 🌍✨🌈🙂.

The Dutch government, Ministerie van Infrastructuur en Waterstaat and Ministerie van Klimaat en Groene Groei created a vision about sustainable carbon use in the chemical industry. Nice to see that #PEF is included as one of the sustainable future building blocks in the chemical industry. #PEF, #releaf® by avantium is a 100% bio-based alternative for PET with superior properties. Enhancing the shelf life of products while reducing the amount of material needed to pack your products.
Warm aanbevolen! Get the releaf you didn’t know your sleep needed ✨🥱🤷♀️💚🛏️ Royal Auping Avantium 🙌 Dr.-Ing. Pavan Kumar Manvi Laleh Maleki
We’re partnering with Royal Auping, Muller Textiles, ANTEX, and Monosuisse to develop PEF-based spacer fabrics—an important step toward more sustainable, breathable, high-performance materials in premium mattresses. The consortium has successfully completed a proof of concept and is now moving into prototype development and scaling production. This shows what’s possible when innovation in circular polymers meets deep expertise in textiles. By replacing fossil-based materials with releaf® by avantium, we’re helping reshape the future of sleep, without compromising on comfort or performance. 🌍 Full release: https://lnkd.in/eWkjS6ev #EcoDesign #FutureOfMaterials #SustainableInnovation

*A Repost from Avantium: “The recycling method we've created is a cure to a disease — but we also need to tackle the disease before it happens.” This powerful insight from Avantium PhD candidate Nienke Leenders highlights the urgency and potential behind our revolutionary breakthrough in polycotton textile recycling. Watch our new mini-documentary to see how Nienke and our CTO, Gert-Jan Gruter, explain the groundbreaking process that's transforming the 50-million-tonne-a-year textile waste crisis into a circular solution. ------ This #polycottonrecycling breakthrough is a perfect match for releaf®'s #PEF. By breaking down the cotton in polycotton waste into simple sugars, we create the building blocks needed to make releaf® - a 100% plant-based, recyclable plastic. This means old textiles can help make new, sustainable materials, closing the loop and giving waste a second life! Watch the video to see how we're turning textile waste into the future of sustainable materials. releaf®'s #PEF is like PET’s cooler sibling - not so different, but just enough to stand out. They look alike, feel alike, and even recycle ♻️ alike, but PEF has a secret: it’s made from plants ☘️, not oil. That means it’s better for the planet, plus it keeps stuff fresher for longer thanks to its superpower-level barrier properties. It’s PET, but smarter and greener - proof that sometimes being the same is what makes you truly unique. ➡️ www.releaf.bio Avantium #avantium #releaf #plantbasedplastic #biobasedeconomy #circulareconomy #greentech #sustainabledesign

🌍 Today, Avantium, together with four other industry leaders, presented a petition to the Dutch Parliament on behalf of Platform Groene Chemie, Nieuwe Economie (GCNE) and eight provinces. 🌍 The petition emphasizes the need for continuous, predictable, and future-oriented government policies to make Europe competitive globally and give Dutch companies an edge within Europe. A sufficient market ensures that Dutch gamechangers can scale up and provides large companies with the clarity needed for long-term investments rather than short-term gains. Swift implementation of a National Circular Plastics Norm is crucial for this. Our Message: - Recycling innovators are struggling; the government must act now to prevent bankruptcies and dependence on non-European countries and fossil fuels. - Swift implementation of a robust National Circular Plastics Norm is essential to stimulate a sufficient market for companies. - Begin with a smaller percentage than initially planned, implement obligations at the right points in the supply chain, provide positive incentives, focus on European recycled and biobased materials with transparent origins and clear quality, and align as closely as legally possible with the European 2030 standards. Read more: https://lnkd.in/e3MvCpBG Together, we can drive the change needed for a sustainable future. 🌱 The petition was presented by: Michiel Spits (DOPS Recycling Technologies bv), Pascal Spiekerman van Weezelenburg (Pryme), Djoeke Altena (Neste ) Ingrid Goumans (Avantium), Richard Schrama (Paques Biomaterials) Arnold Stokking René J.
