🚀🩸 Can space change the way blood flows in our bodies? In microgravity, astronauts face a higher risk of thrombosis and coronary heart disease—why? Because blood doesn’t flow the same way it does on Earth. At YPSat-2, we’re tackling this mystery with AIM, a system designed to simulate the human cardiovascular system in space. 🔧 Here’s a look at AIM’s CAD model — this 3D model allows us visualize and refine the system components, ensuring everything fits together. AIM’s Key Components for Mission Success 🩸 BMF – Blood mimicking fluid that simulates human blood composition. 🫀 Vein – The core of the experiment, in which the BMF flows. 🔬 Laser – Illuminates BMF particles flowing through the vein. 📸 High-speed & low-speed cameras – Capture blood flow behavior in detail. ⛽ Pump & pump driver – Control the circulation of fluid through the system. ⚙️ Valve – Regulates flow to simulate realistic cardiovascular conditions. 🔋 Electronics – Provides power and manages AIM’s operations. 🛠 Structure – The Primary Structure provides interface to Space Rider, while the Secondary Structure provides mechanical support and stability to internal components. This is not the final CAD model, but we’re getting closer to a space-ready design! 🚀 #YPSat2 #SpaceResearch #Microgravity #CardiovascularScience #SpaceRider #ESAEducation
